My labor story
My baby girl Amaanah was due on 4 Sep 2014. The induction was scheduled for the day. I went in at 9:30 pm and was jus 1.5 cm dilated. I was started on cervidil at 11:30 pm. By 1 am, I was already in pain (scale2-3). Couldn't sleep all night. At 5 am, I asked for IV nubain. I stil felt the pain but it made me sleep through it.. 7 am, I was 4 cm dilated and hence, cervidil was removed. Was supposed to be put on pitocin, but since I had closely spaced contractions, my doc felt I would not need it. They waited for my contractions to space out. At about 9:30am, doc broke my water. I was 5 cm dilated n in lot of pain (4-5). At about 11am, I decided to take a second dose of nubain as I was in a lot of pain. At 1pm I was given pitocin to intensify the contractions. By 3 pm, I felt the urge to push, the nurse checked me and I was 8 cm dilated. I started pushing at 3:30 pm. Even After an hour of pushing, I couldn't get the baby out. The doc had to cut my perinium and and also use suction. At 4:58pm, my baby girl Amaanah was born weighing 6lbs 8oz, 20 inches, and a head full of thick black hair! My doctor was in awe of me for not having taken the epidural :)
Wow cant believe u didnt get epidural thats great! Wish i could do that
