You were close. Regression. My son did it with my first. Potty trained and never had an accident, then all of a sudden he had to go back to diapers for a few weeks. After he got used to mommy holding a new baby, he'd talk like one and tried drinking from bottles as well. Both my boys regress a little when they're about to hit a major milestone or a big change in their lives have occurred.

A lot of children do this. It isnt a myth. Its called degression, I believe. For example, a potty trained child may start peeing their pants or asking for a diaper. I learned it is good to make them feel like the "big helper" and celebrate them bringing you things or helping with the new baby, like folding clothes.

Okay I'm curious! I'm so glad I'm hearing this from y'all. Cause I'm pregnant with my second girl. My soon to be 7 year old girl has been giving me and my boyfriend hell and been and angel for her daddy which is completely opposite. I have had so may break Downs cause she ain't been listening and it's just discouraging and making me question my parental instincts you know. I'm hoping that it just a phase, y'all are awesome, I live on this forum. Makes me feel like I can be there for other and y'all are there for me. (Happy pregnant girl right now)

i know this is just an old wives tale but i heard that boys will like pregnant women who are carrying girls and girls will like pregnant women who are carrying boys.. who knows. my sister came to visit last month with my 2 nephews and niece that i haven't seen in a couple of years. my nephew who loves me normally shined away from me while my niece who never cared too much for me wanted to be by my side the entire time. i am having a boy so maybe it's true.
