Could labour be near?!?

I am due on Saturday with my first little boy and so excited!! Wednesday when my doctor checked me, I was 2.5-3cm dilated, 70% effaced. I had my bloody show that night, and now have been losing more pieces of my mucus plug all day. Ive had some period like cramps on and off all day long (not like contractions, but a steady cramp for say 15 minutes, then it goes away and comes back) and loose bowels. Do you think labour could be near???

After losing my mucus plug I went into labor a week later! Hopefully sooner for you!

yes they sound promising, your cervix is opening more, thats why your still using your plug, and the tightenings your having will be helping your bowels empty out, so they are all very promising signs that things will happen soon :)

I really hope it happens soon!!! Im getting so anxious:) Ive been walking lots today and just keep losing more mucus, it feels like its never ending!! Ive been having loads of braxton hicks too, im hoping they turn into real contractions soon. Im planning on walking the stairs for a while to see if I can get some stuff rolling! My family is 4 hours away and want to be here for the birth so Im hoping that ill recognize when it turns into labour.

sounds like a plan, the stairs will really get your pelvis moving,  everything your doing sound perfect for encouraging labour to start :)
