I had my first baby at 16- I had my mind made up I was going to do it natural. Birth hurts reguardless, I just asked the Dr & nurses not to offer it. You'll be in pain so it's tempting to get it, personally I'm scared of a big needle going up in my back. I rather feel pain than to feel that. Well, anyways I loved having him natural, you can feel everything which to me makes it 10 X's easier, you can feel when your ready to push as where the epidural numbs you so it COULD make labor take longer. When he came out, all that hurt after was heeling (which happens even if you do get the epidural) but I wasn't medicated, or drowsy, or numb as soon as he came out I felt 100%. It's a mind over matter type of thing, just prepare yourself for it, & remind yourself that's the way you want to go! I'm now 21 & 31 weeks with my second & I'm going natural again!
I gave natural birth to my first baby girl. Not purposely but I got to the hospital too late and when they tried to give me the epidural it wouldn't take . I was at my baby shower when I went into labor do I wanted yo finish it before going to the hospital :) well long story short I thought I was going to Die. I felt every single thing that happened beginning to end. The worst part was the contractions and when the doctor was guiding the head out. But the pushing was actually a relief from the contractions for some reason. I'm on my third child and I'm definatly getting an epidural early on. But to get through something so painful really makes u proud to be a woman and being so strong and appreciate motherhood.
I had my son with no pain relief he was an assisted delivery as i could not push ( it was like my brain was not connected to my muscles no matter how hard i tried to push nothing happened ) he had a suction cap put on his head an was pulled out buy it. Even with this and many hours trying to push i still would not do it any other way. I would Deffently suggest for all women to try it at less once
I had a natural vbac with #2. I went into labor on my own the night before, all the Dr did was break my water when we checked in the next morning. 6 hours after we checked in, our beautiful 8lb 8oz boy was born, after only 4 pushes! No meds! All the pain literally just stops as soon as baby is out. I did tear some, but Dr was gonna cut me and I told them I'd rather tear on my own. Big as he was, it was an amazing experience! Can't wait til March for the next.
My first baby I had a very hard time pushing. I got tired easily. An I wanted to give up, but my mom, midwife & nurses encouraged me to keep pushing and with ONE BIG PUSH, he literally came out and the midwife almost dropped him.
Second baby was ALOT easier. I believe that preparing myself for labor & what to expect of contractions is why it was easier. I'm currently pregnant with third baby. So just prepare yourself for contractions. Oh an I both did natural birth, no epidural or pain killers.
Www.thebirthcenter.com . One of the tabs will bring you to 3 birth stories that are all natural and really encouraging.
I am currently pregnant with my first child so I personally have not had a natural birth but my mom did when she had me. She was in labor with me for 12 hours and she said that the best part was the pushing. It was a relief to her to push me out. I don't know if you are religious but I also know are woman from my church who offered up her pain in labor for a specific desire for her children and that made her decision on having natural births seem a lot more worth while. Hope I've inspired you to keep it all natural! I will be having a natural birth as well :)
