Night cramps

Hi all, so I'm 21 weeks tomorrow with my 3rd  Peruzz pregnancy. Twice now, I have been woken up by an awful stabbing cramp in my left leg. When I bend down to feel where the pain is, I can feel a knot of muscle which doesn't go until I stretch it out. This knot appears where I have varicose veins. (The varicose veins are non pregnancy related) I now prop a pillow behind me to prevent this happening. I know that the growing uterus puts pressure on the main artery when you're laid on your back and this in turn stops the blood flowing back up to your heart as easily. My legs also ache nearly all night long, it's driving me mad! Anyone else have anything similar?

There is no cure though is there its annoying.  I had it so bad I my 1st labour the contractions seemed like nothing compared with the pain in my legs my mum spent the whole time massaging the pain away :(
