Hello. TMI i know...but iv had one nipple pierced for 3-4years. Does anyone know when i should remove it? Im 14weeks and its not doing anything or hurting, but will it prevent any development? Can i still breastfeed once i take it out??

Thank you alk heaps!!! Its really reasuring to know i can still breastfeed. :) Dont worry ill be removing just before i deliver and will not feed with it in. Sadly it might close over...but my babys health and safety is so much more important that a nipple piercing.  :D xxx

I kept mine in until right after delivery. I nursed 2 babies and a third on the way and I've never had a problem. I left them out with each baby until a year when I stopped nursing. I've had them for almost 15 years and they don't heal anymore. Then I put them back in. Lol. Not only can u nurse but u end up with really GOOD milk flow as it flows from the holes of the pierced as well. U will know for sure that ur baby is getting lots of milk. Lol. Maybe too much sometimes. Haha. They
do leak a lot more than if they weren't pierced tho. Lol. But they are totally keepable. Just don't leave them in when ur actually nursing and ur good. As Msme3 said. Its a painful piercing and not one most ppl will re do. Lol. That's why I kept mine. Haha

I had mine and took them out at about 15 weeks so they could heal and I could breast feed no way I could take them out and put them in every time I was gunna feed the baby to much work lol it's not like a ear ring. You can still breast feed after having them pierced and lastly I noticed I leaked a lot!! Dr said could be because of the piercing. I did notice milk through the piercing holes (yuk) I obviously don't have them anymore I cant imagine doing it again that was the most painful piercing I ever had.

I took mine out while i was prego with my first, I let it heal up before baby was born and i was able ti breastfeed, i think it depends on the peircing whether you can breadtfeed or not, i.dont think it matter if you take it out now or after just as long as you take it out before breastfeefing haha

U don't need to take it out until delievery and yes u can breastfeed but u would have to remove the piercing everytime so the baby doesn't accidently choke on a piece or hurt his or her little gums but other than that its safe

You can breastfeed just fine south a pierced nipple.  You can leave them in until you are ready to breastfeed.:-)  so the entire pregnancy and beyond.  Unless of course if they bug ya :-).
