With my first pregnancy everything was going perfectly until 25 weeks I ended up with a kidney infection that sent me into labor. After a 4 day hospital stay I was discharged at 1 cm dilated and modified bed rest instructions. The next 10 weeks seemed fine not much different than before my hospital stay minus all the restrictions.
On the night of May 19th, 2011 my roomie and I went to sleep around 11pm, around 4am I was woken up with contractions not horrible but enough to make me jump. I tried going back to sleep until around 6 I couldn't do it anymore at 645am I lost my mucus plug and contractions were around 4/5 mins apart. I woke up my brother who was staying with me since my hubby was deployed and we made it to the hospital around 7am. They checked and I was 3cm already. They tried stopping the contractions with no luck, they admitted me around 8am, I continued to dilate pretty quickly and by 1040am I was at 7cm, I finally got the epidural I had been asking for since I got there. The doctor came in within minutes and broke my water by 11:05am I was 10cm and started pushing! At 1135am my son Aiden Landon was born at 5lbs and 8oz. He was 5 weeks early and ended up having to go to the NICU due to not being able to maintain his body temp. That evening the NICU docs were telling me itd be at least two weeks until I could take him home, I was beyond devastated! But my little man is a fighter and on May 25th I got to bring him home :)
