Could I be pregnant?

I'm a 23 year old female with very regular periods, usually every 30 days. . . sometimes I am a couple days late. I've been trying to conceive for the past 6 months with no luck yet. I started my period last month January 9th and it was 3-4 days long. I expected to start my period sometime between February 8th or 9th and on the 12th when I wiped I saw a little bit of dark blood. For the next 3 days I had light spotty dark brownish blood mainly just when I wiped. I never had to use a tampon though. I've never had a "period" like that. It is always really heavy for 2-3 days then maybe a little spotty the last day, and it is always bright red. After reading up on it, I see that it could be implantation bleeding except I guess most of the time that happens a couple days to a week BEFORE your period. It is currently February 18th and I have only had negative pregnancy tests. My nipples are also extremely sore and that is really unusual for me. Is it possible it's just not showing up on the test or should I give up the idea that I could possibly be pregnant this month? Do you think I should get a blood test done?

Thank you so much for any advice you can offer!

I've just been checking my CM. I used ovulation tests one month, but haven't since. I actually have an appointment with my OB next week for my yearly pap. . . so I will talk to him about it and see if he thinks I should do a blood test, I guess.

Have you seen an OBGYN yet? It'd be a great idea to have an appointment with them and talk about your concerns. I know that when women start trying for a baby, what you're describing happens often, most likely due to stress.

Some doctors will start testing your fertility when you've been trying for 6-12 months without success. My opinion is that you should make an appointment and see if there is something going on that is hindering your conception.

What kinds of methods are you using to determine ovulation?
