No, he's not running a fever.... I took him to the ER today, and they told me he has herpes of the mouth.... .And that he will probably have he virus for the rest of his life.. They gave me a special "magic mouthwash" that has mylanta, Benedryl, and some medication in it to help his pain... He's supposed to swish it and then spit it out, but he still can't eat.. He say's it hurts too much... I feel so bad for him.....
My first thought is coxsackie virus (hand foot and mouth disease) my youngest two went throught this recently. They had the blisteres (though they had some on the outside of the mouth as well) along with the FOUL smelling breath and pain where they refused to eat. It presents very similiar to strep throat. Has he been running a fever?
i'm not sure if this will help but i googled it and the ONLY thing i coudl fing with a white tongue no appetite and a smell was something about toxins... just put this website into your browser and see if it osund similiar, but scroll down to the part where ti says symptoms...that is whre it all matches up..and keep us informed please!!!!

It could be a form of herpes, as it can effect the inside and outside of the mouth. It can also develop on other parts of your body, eyes, nose, and even on arms and legs. Id have the blisters tested even maybe a biopsy, just to make sure it isnt contagious.
We just got back into town tonight.. I don't think it's strep.. I have NEVER heard of blister like bumps on the tongue....
my neice was like that back in december and she was tested for strep and sure enough that what she had...but it could be anything...call his peds doc.
