no we're way over the limit..for a family of 3 here in alabama the income limit is $164 a MONTH..ridiculous.
ahh ok. I understand. You should get looked at by another OB not your current and ask them to establish that it happened during pregnancy. Do you not qualify for state insurance (Medicaid?)
well the problem is im not prego anymore im 6 weeks pp.. and the maternity care program coordinator at my hospital told me that its going to be about impossible to prove that the hernia occured as a result of pregnancy since there is no documentation that i suffered from it during the pregnancy. but thats stupid because i DID suffer from it i had sharp pains at the site of the hernia but i wasn't aware it WAS a hernia obviously because my belly was so big i wouldn't have been able to feel a lump. and i didn't mention the pain because who doesn't have weird pains during pregnancy? i know my doctor though and the pain was minor enough that it would have been brushed off had i mentioned it. i didn't notice it was a hernia until after i delievered my daughter. and since its virtually impossible to prove its related to pregnancy i can't get it covered since i only have maternity coverage.
Out here in Socal we have Medical (medicaid) and I'm on "medi medi" which is medicare and medical but insurance *****.
You need to try it anywayse no matter what that woman said. since you get care after delivery, you need to look into getting some surgery to fix it. during my last pregnancy I delt with severe back pain myself, not sure why but it related to a fall I'd had and nerve damage I had.
I'm really sorry your having to deal w/such pain along with being preggo. Talk to your social worker about your options and keep at it. at some point someone is going to help you.
texas right now has a good economy i think...we are in alabama so its not terrible but i would like to move at some point.. 975 for a one bedroom is insane. at that price we'd never get outta my parents house. were living paycheck to paycheck as well and need to start saving some money so that we don't have to do that anymore.
I am married too. But nj is way too exspensive. We are moving out of here soon, to texas. Rent is way too much, we are in a one bedroom and paying 975 and pay all utilities. Forget about how much a 3 bedroom is. Car insurance is more here too. My children have medicaid and I have it for my pregnancy. But we make too much for foodstamps or wic. We pay our bills and spend money on food, that's it. We live pay check to paycheck which s u c k s . It would be so much easier if we were able to get some types of assistance.
yea we are married and as much as i love and adore him and being married to him it costs more to be married.. i would be able to get full medicaid, wic, etc... if we weren't married. oh well.
omg 4000 is sooo much better because even a family of 5 i think can only make 200 something in alabama.. i can't believe that. i guess we need to move to nj then lol.
I know how you feel, not completely but somewhat. I live in NJ so the eligibility is much higher for medicaid. For a family of 5 I think it was like 4000 something. But for foodstamps my husband and I make too much together by like 300. So we are on that borderline. Idk what I am going to do when I go on maternity leave as I make most of the money. Life can be so difficult.
Hmmm that is hard and i understand what your going through. Are you and your partner married? If not then you can say he does not live with you. Just dont accept any cash aid because if you do they may go after him for child support. Honestly thats what me and my df do because with his income i would loose most if not all of my aid. Now he does not make great money but enough to get us by, but with out the medical and food stamps we would not make it. I know it sounds so unfair but sometimes thats what us citizens have to do to get help from our own country.
ive looked into any welfare options we can get and we're just not elligible for anything :(...we are right in between, we make too much to be elligible (at least in alabama) and too little to cover all the necessary expenses. which is the reason we're still living at my parents house and probably will be for awhile.
wow im sorry you are going through this. Have you gone down to the welfare office to apply for benefits? I am on medi-cal, which is medicaid, here in california and im also a family of 3. I know for me the max monthly income i can make is $1904 to get any aid including medical. I hope everything works out for you.
