I have recently found out I'm pregnant, and have gotten tested for my hcg level and 3 days ago it was rising appropriately and today the doctor said the blood has come back not rising like it should.  The ultrasound showed an empty sack last week, and today it showed a yolk with it. My doc says to go back in a week and if there is no baby than it might be an blighted ovum. And I am only 4wks 4days. :( give me feedbacks I am so scared.

I guess maybe someone could give me a better understanding but as far as i know in a true blighted ovum the yolk doesnt even appear? so the fact that you first couldnt see a yolk and now you can i would still take as a positive at this point...

Just curious are you 4 weeks 4 days based on your first day of your last period? im just wondering because usually the gestational sac can be seen at approx 5 weeks, the yolk sac appears at approx. 5.5-6 weeks, fetal pole is around the 5.5 -6.5 weeks and the heartbeat at 6.5-7 weeks... Im just wondering if you are counting from the fetal age(from conception) not the gestational age(from first day of last period) as there is about a 2 week difference... so im thinking that your gestational age would be 6 weeks 4 days which would make more sense for the timeline.... and would make more sense to be able to see the fetal pole and possible the heartbeat at your next appointment....

oh and i want to add that 85% of normal hCG levels double every 72 hours...so this leaves 15% of NORMAL hCG levels that do not follow this pattern, im not saying that it doesnt always come with warning but just that there is hope and the fact that your pregnancy is still developing is a good sign... fingers crossed for good news next week! good luck!!

You are so little along that it is common to have a hickup and have the egg not show right. especially if you have a tilited cervix. the fact that you develpoed a ypke sac moving forward is much more important then the hcg level. after my US the Dr didnt even call with my beta because he said that the development was way more important

It's just too early to tell. After your next scan you'll know more. Just seeing the sac early on isn't uncommon, if you get scanned again and you don't see the little embryo it's a blighted ovum. Had something similar happen to me really early in this pregnancy, on my re-scan saw my itty bitty one and even heard the heartbeat. I'll think good thoughts for you.

I had one of those many many years ago.  If it is a blighted ovum it is nothing you did.  Basically, the embryo just never starts developing.  Could have never even produced an embryo or the embryo could have aborted itself due to major complications.  Normally you have to have a d&c to remove it because it can be harmful to you.  Good luck to you in the future and i hope next week they find a lil bean in there too.  I like to think of mine as there was nothing there to begin with.  That way its not as upsetting.
