What is this?

Hey everyone. As most of you know I am 38.4 weeks today and I am having some strange symptoms and I am hoping some of yall can give me some input. I have been super neauseas to where I cant really eat anything. I can keep the little bit that I do eat down but I cant eat much. Today for lunch I went to Panera Bread Co and Got a bowl of Brocclii Cheddar soup and a roll and could only eat like 2 bites of the soup and half the roll. This has been going on for a few days now. Could this hurt my little man? Also I know this may be very normal but I have been sleeping like 18 hours a day now. When I am awake I feel awful but I dont think this much sleep is normal.... Any thoughts?

if you sleep that much, go for it. your going to need to be rested for labor and delivery and after your little one is born. i was so scared i couldnt sleep and my nurse kept telling me to relax and just try and i couldnt then wouldnt you know it when it was time to push i was so exhausted i almost needed a c-section b/c i was progressing on my own b/c i was more or less so lazy and tired.

Linzola, we are right on the same schedule.  I hope you go on your own.  Good Luck.  Last week I was the one who was sleeping like that.  Now this week, knowing when everything is coming, I have way to much to do to sleep.  Too uncomfortable too.
I have also read that diahrea and being really tired can be symptoms of impending labor. Oh and nausea too.  It is supposed to clear u out so that ur digestive tract is clean.

Hey, I've been feeling great considering I've been so tired and everything!!
You sound just like me right before labor so I'm thinking no induction for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Good luck!!

Yeah, I stayed up all day and night leading up to labor and trust me I regretted it. I saw it coming but I was too anxious and excited. So don't do what I did, get your last and final good night's rest before your little miracle gets here! You'll need it.

Linzola,

Sounds like m/s has showed her ugly face to you *Hugs* They say that getting nauseated, soft stool, and tiredness are a few signs of impending labor, like 24/48 hrs pending....I hope this is it so you can see your perfect ray of sunshine! Stay positive, and try not to stress, and like kstarr said, rest up as much as you can before delivery.

I was like that with the food for the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy.  I ate a lot at first.  I gained 61 lbs in the 1st 36 weeks and lost 5 in the last 4 weeks.  The doctor said it was fine and it was from the baby being so large.  As for the sleep... it is probably your body getting ready for labor.  Enjoy the sleep now!  Good Luck and remember to enjoy these last few days.  I know it is miserable now but trust me, you will miss it!

Since no one pointed this out I wanted to mention that your baby will be fine...it shouldn't affect him at all.  He is going to take all the nutrition he needs from YOU whether you are eating or not...essentially YOU are the one suffering...but being as you are so close to delivering it's not going to effect you much either.  Dont' worry...lil man is getting everything he needs from his mama.

Linzola1,

some women get nausea and/or diarrhea in the lead up to birth.  This could "potentially" be whats going on with you..... especially if you are starting to have contractions (even if they are small).  As the other ladies say, make sure you are hydrated and keep taking your pre-nats.

BTW: I am 38 weeks and 3 days and have also been feeling a little nauseous on and off for the last few days but not to the point where it has effected my eating.  I have also been feeling VERY exhausted.  My induction is on the 17th and like you, I really dont want to be induced.  Hopefully we will both go into labor soon ;)

As always, if you are really concerned call your doctor and dont worry about it.  Just remember there will ALWAYS be a lady that has called WAY more times that you and the doctor is used to it and is paid to take care of us and any questions we have.

Thanks. I just feel really wierd about calling my doctor after all I went through last week. I am really ready to have this little man. The flu like symptoms are very bothersome. They just keep getting worse and I am beginning to have some small contractions. Maybe I am going into labor or maybe not... I am going to relax on the couch for a few hours and see if my contractions pick up... It would be great, I really do not want to get induced but if I have to I will..

Linzola, your stomach is scrunched up so tight right now that getting a few bites here and there is normal. Nausea also returns because your stomach is being squished!

If baby hasn't dropped already, that will probably alleviate the nausea and lack of appetite. For now, just keep eating what you can and drinking lots of fluids. And as for the sleep part, your body is just preparing for labor and delivery! It's okay to sleep a lot. Because, believe me, you will be incredibly sleep deprived later.

Have you called your Dr. It's not good that you haven't be able to keep anything down. Have you been able to keep fluids down? Wouldn't want you getting dehydrated...

oh, goodness...  i wish i could sleep that much!!!  i get like my usual 7hrs tops if i'm lucky!!!  :)

i know its completely normal to not have much of an appetite at the end... although it ***** for us, the babies are fine.  dh actually used to get mad at me towards the end of my pregnancies b/c he's used to me always being a really big eater and i just can't towards the end...  its like impossible!

the nausea part i'm not so sure of.  i get it sporadically but its just a small nauseous feeling and not like what you're describing.
