I work in pharmacy and there has not been any info like that. Also from my 11 years of experience I can tell you that the only difference in the ones behind the counter and OTC is that there is only more folic acid...same ingredients.
Just to update, my Doc said that she hasnt heard anything about any perscription prenatal vitamins causing any severe problems and she said its safe start taking them again. So apparently my cusin isnt a reliable source of info.
YIKES!!! Well keep us updated if you find anything else out. And you're so right about the FDA!!! The FDA makes me so incredibly angry.
Yeah I know, but with all the suff the FDA says is ok to put in foods, I wouldnt be suprised if they have tinkered with adding stuff to the vitamins .
I have never heard of this either! Very strange! What would they put in a prenatal to cause such side affects? Sounds crazy. I just stick to my all natural food-based prenatal vitamins from whole foods.
My cusin said she heard about this on TV, she was asking DH what kind the pharmacy had given me and he decribed it to her and thats what she told him...Not very reliable info, So I'm talking with my doc about it Wednesday and see what she says, its gotten me a little scared... I will update on what my doc says.
Where did you hear this information? I haven't heard anything on it (then again I don't hear everything about everything, LOL!). What would be in a vitamin that would cause strokes and heart attacks? Prenatals are full of vitamins and minerals. So unless something else is in it or they're created incorrectly I don't really understand why they'd cause these problems.
