I don't want to take any medicine because I'm 18 weeks now.
Well where I am from, the following drink is used to fix cough and cold.. You can make it in the morning and use it all day in small quantity ensuring you have it warm or hot enough that won't scald your throat. Take 3 cups of water. Grate some ginger in it, some crushed black pepper, pinch of salt, 2 crushed cloves and honey. If you have running nose then you may add some fennel seeds too. you can add the quantity as per your taste.boil it till the water is reduced to half. I was down with bad cough, cold and fever 2 weeks ago and used this and was up and running in 3 days. Don't forget to keep your throat clean before going to bed. And see if you can avoid all milk products, coffee and chocolate for few days. Let me know if it helps.
Thanks beingmom! I appreciate your help. Btw, what does coughing do to the baby? Just curious
I asked my doctor about it. She said unless you have something serious, your baby is okay. It also depends on how far along you are. Medicine can have more long lasting effects then the actual sickness. I was in week 26 then. How about you? By the way my coughing did scare or startle my baby girl. It was hilarious to feel her move inside.
Awwww:) Congratulations on your baby girl. I'm now 18 weeks and expecting a baby boy. I was so scared last night because I was coughing so hard. I woke this morning thinking if my baby was ok. I don't want to take Tylenol, for I've been taking too many already for headaches in the past. Thanks so much for your input. God bless you!
I can imagine your apprehension. I was worried sick too. I try not to take any medicine and rarely fall sick too. I think good old fashioned eastern world home remedies help a lot. Congratulations on the lil man. I hope you feel better soon.
By the way I forgot to tell you. Try to avoid coughing as it makes the throat soarer than it already is. When at home you can take a tiny (Really tiny) piece of ginger coat it in honey and eat it like a candy. You can also just have have a spoonful of honey. Drinking Warm water helps too. Get well soon.
Thanks a bunch beingmom. Your words of advice has made me realize that there are caring people out there. I'm a little better today, just coughing a bit still:( Will definitely take your advice to heart. Thanks again and God bless☺
Hi beingmom:) Hope all is well on your end. I'm doing well now. Thanks a bunch! Take care.
