Please help! Double electronic breast pumps?

hi ladies, I am a FTM to a week year old baby and am having difficulties feeding her of my own breast as she doesn't take enough on her own and as a result is very unsettled, restless and is up every hour wanting more but i still want to give her breast milk and not formula so I have started pumping with a single handheld so I know exactly how much she is getting . I have been advised to buy a double electric breast pump as it will be faster and easier to get the milk out instead of sitting for almost a hour just to get one feed. Does anyone know what is a good quality electric double breast pump and roughly how much it will cost? And also where to purchase. Thank you

Call your insurance and see what they cover and their procedures. I had to get a prescription and take it to a medical supply company and different places carry different brands. I went with the Ameda double electric. I know the Medela has slightly higher ratings, but the Ameda is a closed system.  This means that the milk never goes into the tubing or machine but straight into the bottles. The open system Medela doesnt do that and can get moldy. My Ameda also came with  6 storage bottles, a cooler and ice packs, a variety of flange sizes and the attachment to make it a manual pump in case of no power. It all came packed in a really nice backpack/bag. It was explained to me as Ameda is Medela's younger sister.  Same basic machine functions, except no potential for mold/less parts to clean and slightly cheaper with more extras

The only pumps ive ever used are medela. They are rather expensive though so not sure youre interested in this brand. Theyre like $250 at walmart. I do know that if you go to your local WIC and rent a double pump for free. Or you can try your insurance provider. Mine just has my doctor write a prescription and once I fax it, they send me a brand new free pump.

Call your health insurance and see if they provide you with a pump. Mine did. And just look up what you want and check reviews for what you can get.
