Contraction question...

WOW am I full of questions...I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, not out of the ordinary for me, with my son and this baby girl I've had them since before 18 weeks, so needless to say I'm used to it. BUT the last day or two I've been getting them, and, not EVERY time, I've gotten a sharpish pain in my lower abdomen, like below my belly button.

Oh no, it's nothing like that...it's below my belly button, like towards the bottom of my tummy, right around, but just above my incision scar...I'm thinking of calling tomorrow and asking the dr's nurse about uterine rupture and what the symptoms are, just in case...

are you SURE they are BH? when i was prego with ariana i had a sharp pain near my belly button but off to the side. it was off and on but literally felt like someone was tearing my muscles. it was out in front and not deep within.
it turned out to be a hernia that was forming.

LOL, don't need to call to ask that, they'll say to come in. 100% sure on that one. The next ne after 509 wasn't until 15 min later...I've had my feet kicked up trying to choke down water, my reflux has definitely gotten worse the last few days, and especially butt kicking today.

I'm just gonna see what happens for now. I really don't feel like going to hear "you're not in labor" and going home after three hours...if you get her let me know, text me if you can if I'm not on. I'm gonna chill out on the couch and relax.

you need to call at this point then I think...being a VBAC they SHOULD be more sensitive to your contractions and labor signs than usual....I'll plug my phone in and see if I can get ahold of Cass. I don't think you should be heading in yet but definitely worth a call to see what they want you to do if they start coming closer.

Ivy if you would that would be AWESOME! I want to call L&D to ask, BUT I don't want to get told to just "come in" to sit forever and go home.

Update: In the last hour I've had one at 415, 426, 443, 456, 505, 509...so that's six. I don't know how long they're lasting, I didn't think to time them since they're not regular at all. I'm not really feeling any pain, but I wish I was. I'm ready!!!

This has been going on for weeks with me.  It's annoying.  Just when I think they are getting to something they stop.  Last night they were about every 5-8 minutes for almost 2 hours.  I'm already at 3.5 and 70% so I don't want to wait too long.  Lost my mucus plug over the weekend. I was waiting for them to get more coordinated if that makes sense.  I also have a two little ones (I know you have a little boy too) and I could not see myself getting everyone up if it wasn't REALLY labor.  I was told being that this is my third and I am already dilating to come in when they are 5-7 minutes, lasting a minute or more, for at LEAST an hour.  So this would have qualified, but they just didn't seem strong enough from what I remember.  I know they did something because there was tons of mucus (TMI) everytime I want to the bathroom.  Have you had an increase in discharge?  I know I did with both of my others near the end.

They let me go on saturday even though I had more than five in a hour because they weren't every five minutes anymore and my cervix didn't progress over the course of time I was there. All they'll do is give you fluids, check your cervix a couple times, and give you pain meds. Well, that's all they did for me anyways. :(

i think it's regular intervals OR more than ...well, here's where I was told 6 in an hour not 4. and my doc said to call at more than 6 in an hour and come in if they're coming more frequently than every 8 minutes. he said he tells most women to come in every 5-6 minutes but because my first labor was so fast he wanted me to come in quicker...and it's a good thing because Grey came so fast that I probably would've been giving birth at home if I had waited and hadn't been in the hospital LOL

but since you're a vbac I would assume it's MORE than 4 in an hour OR regular intervals of less than 10-12 minutes...but I'm not sure. Losing/Cass would be the best one to ask on this! want me to text her?

And when they tell you to come in for more than four in an hour are they supposed to be at regular intervals? From 211-314 there's a total of 5, but they vary in min between from 9-30...

OH! Since I don't feel pain with all of them and it's only lower abdomen on the ones I DO feel pain with...could they be the beginning of real labor contractions, or just BS Braxton Hicks? *fingers crossed someone says beginning of real labor* :)

I decided to start writing down the times I have them, and the amount of time between them....farthest apart was 40 minutes, closest was 3 minutes. not close enough to be more than four in an hour, but almost right at four in an hour and ten minutes. I'm not too incredibly worried, I'm not gonna go to L&D unless I AM having at LEAST four within an hour. I don't  want to drive half an hour away, to get put on a monitor for three hours to find out I'm not in labor...although it would be nice to find out if I'm dilating or effacing, lol.

It's not bugging me too much, the cramping isn't that bad, but since my son was a c-section and this is my first VBAC I don't know what to expect. I had my c-section at 38 weeks 5 days, and I never went into labor. I had BH contractions a lot with him, and went to L&D a couple times, but towards the end of my pregnancy as soon as I got to the hospital, they'd go away almost...and I never felt pain with them. SO this whole labor thing is new to me...thank GOD I found this site two years ago, I'd be at the hospital getting checked quite a bit cause they won't tell you jack over the phone, just to come in.

I dunno Brinny you know I'm not pregnant (I hope not...I just passed "o" about 10-15 days ago and any day AF should be here..aaaany day now..) but I am having horrid lower abdominal pain..and I wouldn't wish it on ANYONE much less one of my besties who is also dealing with all the end-of-pregnancy misery...so I hope yours eases up :(.

Lol if you can get it figured out let me know, because now I'm having bad diarrhea along with these cramps. I'm pretty miserable today. I hope you start to feel better!

Ivy, I actually have been getting crampy feelings on the left kinda like ovulation pain/right before AF...but this sharp stuff is all lower abdomen out in front...

Yeah I've been feelin' that a lot lately and it's just getting worse. I know I'm not constipated because I'm going regularly. lol. So I'm not quite sure what it is, but it sure does hurt!

I'm usually sitting down when I get them, yesterday I was walking around Walmart...but I just had one a few minutes ago that's what made me post about it. It does feel like gas/constipation cramping...

I've been having that too and it gets to be quite painful. I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug yesterday too, and since then they've gotten worse and I've had horrible back and stomach cramps like I need to go to the bathroom. The only thing I know to do is just take it easy when it hurts. :(
