Pre-Pregnancy Preparation

Folic Acid alone  or Prenatal Vitamins??

In preparation for getting pregnant, I am confused on what is best in terms of vitamin supplements. My doctors says to take a folic acid supplement so I have started to take 1 mg. per day. Some of my female friends tell me that I should be taking the prenantal vitamins already to prepare but I am not taking  their word for it as maybe too much of a good thing isn't good. I try and eat a balanced diet although with my busy schedule it is sometimes difficult.

I want to give myself the best shot possible at having a successful pregnancy and would appreciate an educated professional's advice on the best choice.

Thank you.

Im currently taking michaels vitamins for the female reproductive factor. they have all the  things in it u need to boost ur body to get pregnant and they do have the recommended amount of folic acid that u need b4 conception so if u worry bout the prenatal u may look into these vitamins. there is also some others call fertil-aid and theyre supposed to be good too.

this may help richeygirl, not sure what level is good,do your cycles run 28 days or more all over,if your lutheal phase is shorter than 10 days then you could have an imbalance, which is easyly put right.progesterone is needed to support a early pregnancy, and prevent mc.if everything is ok,i think this test be fien, nothing to worry about..

From the start I decided I was going to have a child I've been going to the doctor getting checked to make sure I'm healthy enough to get started, my ultrasound came out good and i also had blood work done to check my hormones & everything was good, except at the time I had it done I was just getting off my period & my progesterone was too high, which she said that was common after ur cycle. so she wants my to retest thurs.cause at that point, it suppose to be normal & she wanted to make sure it is normal. So I'm ready to get that done and we'll see what's next. What is ur progesterone & does it suppose to be high or low? I know she said if it's not right it can prevent u from ov & I ov this weekend so I just that means I should'nt worry. Right?  Keep ur head up ladies soon ur dreams will be here.
