Pregnancy tests

So I was wondering!! How did everyone finally find out that they were actually pregnant. What was the test that gave them that first positive?

My first pregnancy was 2 cheapie urine tests but did not show up positive on the doctors urine test until 8 weeks! this time around it was first positive in a doctors blood test at 4 weeks

I'm hoping I'm one of those women who doesn't get the positive on the HPT! I'm on CD 40 and still no AF, and I just got a negative this morning with a test. (my normal cycle length is 35-40 days, so I'm only now considered late)

home pregnancy test, then when i went to the docters they didnt even test me because i did 4 at home! :)

my doc called me because bloodwork i had done came back with abnormal levels that could be preg related or something else so she wanted to rule out preg....well the urine test came back pos so she did a bloodtest and i was indeed preg

what a way to find out

my first test was definitely a dollar store test both times.... though i always double check with a first response test because i am a freak like that

I found out the last three times by running my own labwork while I was at the lab one night for work. twice I thought I might me but this last time I was running the tests on everyone in th lab we were doing correlating test for thw lab and needed twenty patient samples it was just to funny that I was the only postive one ;) but I never used otc cause for some reason I never show postive until I am further along than just a missed period

I'm just a little curious, because there's a lot of posts saying how women don't show on pregnancy tests, or don't find out till they're about to deliver or till they're 5 months pregnant. So I decided to see what it took for them to finally find out they were pregnant. :)

I found out at 9dpo and 8dpo respectively with my first and 2nd...with home pregnancy tests. with my miscarriage (before #1) I found out with an HPT as well...never went to the doctor for a test, just to establish prenatal visits.

I think everyone would rather take a home test  first then go to the doc . :)

I took a home test . I bought the cheap one from the dollar store ;) works just the same

I voted for OTC urine pregnancy test.  I have never tested first at a doctor's office.
