Thanks everyone for being nice and supportive! It sure does help! And I've been around cats since I was born and have always changed the box. It just makes me mad the my mother in law is being so rude about it...
ive heard that if your a long time cat owner thst toxoplasmosis isnt really an issue because youve had long term exposure. I think your taking great precaution and next time someone has something to say tell them if theyre that worried about it they are more then welcome to change the litterbox for you
crazy!
animals dont kill babies like that! haha i have alot of animals in my house! 3 dogs outside, 3 small dogs inside, 2 cats outside (boys) , and 1 female cat inside... were goin to get another baby female cat this week! i see no harm wit having animals as long as yu watch them wn baby comes :)
I have 3 cats, and since i live with my mom the litter box is in my room but my fiance changes it. but with all that i think you will be just fine. (:
I have two cats my kitten tries to kill my pants with fire when I'm wearing pants she thinks its prey and tries to kill my pants but she only does that when I'm walking around the house or doing dishes and i think five months from now she'll be in heat and chilled out I'm not worried about my cats i got a spray bottle and they won't get into the windows for fear of being sprayed so I'm sure if they go near the crib and get sprayed they'll learn that its not okay to do that. i don't change the litter box my boyfriend does but a dog would be more dangerous and nobody ever says to get rid of the dog they could bite and trample the baby trying to play with it a cats just gonna sniff it possibly give it a bath and move on but you must watch the cat don't allow it in the crib they could suffercate it don't let the cat sleep with the baby until it can sit up and be able to smack the cat off if needed.
Youre doing just fine with your cat! Don't let anyone stress you out about it. If anything I would just advise you to get a pet net for your babies crib. Cats tend to like to snuggle up with the babies and could potentially suffocate. That's all I would say!
My kitty growing up used to follow me everywhere!! She also either slept on me or under my arm like a teddy bear LOL.
ive got a boy cat, hes about a year and a half old and his mommy (a stray) had him and his 2 brothers in mine & my fiance's apartment. now we did get his front claws removed and had him fixed for temperment reasons right after we found out we were pregnant but my cat is badically like a little kid to me. my family keeps sayin to get rid of him and that hes bad for the baby but we've got him relatively trained. he stays outta tge baby's room unless one of us is in there and he only lays under stuff, he wont even jump on our bed so I doubt we'll have problems with the baby & the crib. and im 35weeks today and my kitty follows me everywhere when my fiance isnt home, kinda like hes keepin an eye on me lately.
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard lol!!! I have a girl cat and she.'s lovely I'd never get rid of her, obviously cats find warm places to sleep so keep an eye out when baby's sleeping. I lived at my mams with my oldest daughter was born and she had 15 cats and never had a problem, they were clean and my daughter loved them! 26 weeks with our third girl and had my cat 2yrs! Ignore what everyone says ur be fine x
Thank you for your kindness this cat is crazy she sleeps right next to me or on my belly and everytime I go to the restroom which is a lot she follows me.. and sits and waits lol
People are rude and crazy!! Ignore them. You're doing all the right things when it comes to changing het box! When baby is born just watch kitty like you would around any other animal. My 3 of my babies have been around cats and never once did they show signs of killing them. Try to relax and to hell with people and their comments!! :)
