Preterm labor

I went into preterm labor at 34 weeks. I dilated  2cm. I'm on medication to stop contractions.  Sometimes it seems to work and other times I still get regular contractions.  Has anyone else gone into labor while on medicine? And when did they let you off of it? I get major back pain since I started taking it and been on bedrest.

I've been nifediphine for two weeks now. I constantly have contractions for a few hours all of a sudden.  Just getting anxious. They haven't said anything about a c section to me.  Good luck and thanks for the response.

Yes, at 27wks I had it stopped 3 times before they found a med that keeps it mostly under control for me. I'm now 32wks and on nifedipine and I still have daily contractions and cramps but I'm on it until my water breaks or I have a csection at 36wks.
