Root canal during pregnancy?

I'm 28+1 and my dentist just called and said I need a root canal and she's going to call my midwife to see if its okay to do this Friday. I have a very low pain tolerance and I cant have laughing gas because it can affect the baby I can only have numbing shots. Has anybody had a root canal during pregnancy? How bad is it?

I had one with 7 numbing injections . I felt everything because i waited to long and i had a "hot tooth" and  an infection that just wouldn't go away because it was so deep.  The dentist decided it could get dangerous so he decided to work on me and gave me one shot of a strong anesthetic and i still felt everything so he pulled my nerve out and it was the worst pain ever but it only lasted 3 seconds. After that i couldn't feel a thing. Im not trying to scare you or anything just  saying get it done and you wont be in any pain the sooner it's fixed. I waited like 2 years -_- that's what i get

I had one but I had the gas mask on. It didn't hurt during it but afterwards it did. They gave me medicine for the pain which helped a lot. But since you're preggo I don't know what you'll be able to take /:
