Its Pretty Wasteful To Buy New Just BecauseIts A First Born. My Family Composts, Recycles And Gardens. We Share And Love..... I'm Not Able To Understand Why Everything Must Be Brand New....Its Just A Baby. It Grows So Fast And Looks Cute No MaTteRy What.
I don't think your baby will no the difference. .. I've got everything second hand except for car seat and crib. Saves so much money
But if you think about manufacturing companies don't make one pair of everything. So you are bound to see a baby wearing the same thing another baby has on!
For my first I got a secondhand crib, changing table, stroller, bouncer, swing, jumparoo... I bought secondhand clothes at Goodwill and consignment shops, I've bought secondhand cloth diapers. What does it matter? I washed things before using them for my child, my MIL always compliments me on how well my son is dressed and she knows I've hardly ever paid retail price for a single thing but it's good quality name brand stuff. Who cares if another kid has worn it before? I have handed things down to friends with younger kiddos, they are appreciative of my gifts and it always makes me smile to see a friend's baby wearing something my baby wore, it reminds me of when he was little which is awesome. Pretty snobby if you ask me to turn up your nose at perfectly good baby items someone is willing to give you as a gift.
@kolina Good luck with the shower. Get that bunny new clothes!!
I'm sorry that I disagree with everything you're saying. Babies grow so fast clothing was probably only wore once or twice. Ill be grateful for everything I get cause im not very well off. I don't know where you come from but who the h e l l points out, out of no where "that was my babies" that's hood rat sh!t right there.
So far the only thing I have thats new is the playpen. But thats cuz no one else had one. My cousin is giving my a used swing, carseat and clothing. But I have not had my baby shower yet so idk what I will get, but I dont mind most things used. Some stuff I want new.
I hate the pointing out part. I dont like that. It makes me feel like they realy did'nt want to give. Like they were pressured to give
Not dat i buy all high quality stuff. I just don't like it cos they talk about about it in the streets (S.A). When ur kid is wearing sumthin they gave u they point it out to others n tel them it was their babys n when they give birth again they expect u to have something to give them too. Thats wat made me reject everything. Just my opinion. Jst imagine walking down the street n some lady calls another n say "see that was my babys" lol...no no no not to my baby!!!!
I accept anything. I didnt buy a crib, stroller, bassinet, car seat, dresser, rocker, half her wardrobe, swing, bathtub or even bibs and burp cloths. In our family, money isnt an issue but its the thought we could contribute a piece of our history to each other and why waste dollars on things you use maybe twice before theyre not needed anymore especially clothes. I love that my daughter will wear outfits that I wore and be cuddled in the same blanket her aunt used. Everyones prerogative is different though.
I'll appreciate anything I'm given although I sincerely doubt my family or his will be doing any of that. But especially clothes! Gah! They grow so fast.
I took whatever I was given, you will appreciate it in the long run once you see how baby blows through everything and needs more of this, or how dirty and messy everything gets or even just how irrelevant that expensive thing you bought was. I accepted everything, except for hideously ugly clothes that would never be on my child,lol. Just don't be so quick to turn down, there is always a use for something if not, throw it in your next garage sale (;
I took what ever any one was generous enough to give having kids is expensive and everything helps. My babies always got new stuff to but if a person can get free stuff of good quality then why not. Babies and kids don't care if things are new or not.
I hate when people try to do that! The only thing I accept is clothes for my toddler that he's just gonna stain up or get muddy anyway! I've bought almost everything new for my son and will do the same for our next soon in August!
Everything. Its our first and we don't mind. The baby is gonna outgrow everything so fast
My friend gave me her carseat/ stroller combo
