Pinched nerve?

I woke up at 4:30 this morning with severe lower back pain. It was very sharp around my SI joint (near where you'd have back dimples), but radiated across the length of my lower back. My husband noticed I was up and not ok, so he gave massaged it out, which helped with the initial radiating paid, but it remained sharp in a small spot, then it wrapped around and gave a sharp pain from there around to the front, staying only on my right side. Do you think this could have been caused by the baby sitting on a nerve? After about 30 minutes he moved to the front of my belly and was rolling around there and it brought me some relief. I'm 31 weeks, so he is getting bigger and heavy enough.

I would mention it to your doc. I have sciatica and it starts the same but goes down my leg not my front.  Maybe the stress made you contract with braxton hicks? Massaging generally does not help my nerve pain and can agitate it for me.

Its quite possible but also something to mention to your doctor. If it could be massaged out it was probably just the stress on your back
