I hope that caught your attention.  The correct term when finding out if the baby is a male or female is SEX, not gender.  No prenatal test is going to tell you your child's gender.

A child's SEX is biological.  XX or XY, penis or vagina.
A child's GENDER is psychological.

The majority of the time they do match up but they are NOT interchangeable.

What I find most interesting about this is that as condescending as it does come off, WifeofAnt, you yourself used the term "gender" in a post in April.  Like the others said, people use that term because it is widely accepted, and used even by the birthing centers, obstetrical offices, and ultrasound facilities.  If they called it a "Sex Scan" rather than a "Gender Scan" a whole different thought would prevail.
