Sharp pain in vagina..

Hello, I'm new on here and I was hoping someone could help me.
I've been having really sharp, stabbing pains in my vagina area. Lately it wasn't that bad, but just the last few minutes every time he moves it sends a sharp pain down there. I don't know if it's labor or what? This is my first baby and I'm 36 weeks pregnant.

Thanks!

I had the same pain as you are describing from 38 weeks. My dr said it is normal and it's your body preparing the cervix like roke said. I'm now 7 days overdue and the stabbing pains are really killing me. Good Luck.

From what I can find on the internet it sounds like the kid is pushing on your cervix.  I'm not exactly sure though - but I do know that it is happening to me a lot right now and is quite painful... I sure hope it is causing me to dilate and efface as I am 3 days overdue!
