So much!

Wow so I've been lurking a lot and have recently been responding to more messages. Sorry for my hiatus. Busy with three pretty little ladies and other things in life. Anyway I don't know if anyone remembers but I was talking about wisdom tooth pain not long ago and my extraction (for half of my face) is on Wed. YIKES! I cannot wait to get it over with.

Zoë is almost 6-months-old now. I cannot believe it because it seemed like it took forever for my oldest daughter to grow. The more children I have the faster time moves! She is such a sweetheart and such a Momma's girl. Just tonight I walked over to my inlaws' house to do some work and husby had to call because she was absolutely hysterical. *SIGH* Love her but this momma is needing a break. Bachelorette party coming up for my soon-to-be sister-in-law and it'll be my first real break from Mommyhood since before she was even born.

So that's what is going on in the life of moi among other things.

Oh and before the extraction I think I should take a preg. test "just to make sure" you think? I haven't had a period since she was born because I exclusively breastfeed. So I have no idea if and when I've even ovulated because I haven't been paying attention to ovulation signs. Tonight I was feeling so queasy and thought... "Oh no...!" But it is probably just indigestion knowing me. Ha ha!

I don't think knowing before the surgery will matter because I won't be going under general. I'll just have Lidocaine and laughing gas junk. Yay for me (total sarcasm).

glad to hear your surgery went good! They never gave me antibiotics before and I ended up with a rare cycst and infection and on a respirator for 8 days. I had three little ones then too. So glad all is well and you are doing OK without the hard pain meds. I will pray for quick healing and no chipmunk checks for ya:) #4 huh:) Go for it, LOL kids are great!

Darvocet is awful! I feel SO MUCH BETTER after not taking them. I just had Daniel pick up regular old Extra Strength Tylenol from the store and it's working fine.

Yes, I do not want to be pregnant right now! LOL! So that was a relief to say the least. Maybe at the end of this year when she's a year old I'll think about #4 but for now I'm good.

Glad to hear your procedure went fine.  I had all of mine extracted a few years ago and the drugs - they put me on Percocet - was what made it worse for me!  They finally switched me to Tylenol 3's and I felt much better.

Also glad to hear your HPT was negative.....being pregnant with a 5 month old would be a lot to handle - even for a super mommy like you :-))

Test was negative and today I've had a lot of CM so I could be ovulating soon.

And my wisdom teeth (or at least the ones on the right) are out! I'm doing pretty good. I stopped taking the pain pills this afternoon because they were making me so sick I couldn't function. Just a dull ache in my jaw and a general feeling of ickiness but doing much better after not taking the Darvocet.

I'm off to bed and will hopefully feel MUCH better tomorrow!

Joy~ I know how you feel! Little man just hit 4 months and TJ will be 2 in august!  I'm not on BCP myself, just condoms... DH and I decided we didn't want me to get on hormonal stuff. his fear is my libido will drop (it did before) and he knows that condoms aren't %100 but we're being careful.

I forgot to test this morning!

faye- yes I'll leave a bottle. Don't know if she'll take it but at her age she can go 3-4 hours without nursing and I don't plan to be gone all night. So I think she'll do just fine!

take a test, just in case! thats how i found out i was pregnant. The doc was going to give me an anti-anxiety pill (only one dose to take before having my blood taken cause im hemophobic) but then he was like "maybe you should take a hpt first". So you never know!
Btw, how does your hubby feeds her when you are gone? Do you pump your milk before you leave?

Most docs will tell you its safe and sometimes necessary as long as only local anasthetic is used.  It becomes necessary if there is a risk of infection becuase the infection can spread and cause complications with the pregnancy.

When I Had mine removed it was really out of necessity, less for pain.  See when I got preg. with my first, my body was leached of calcium (never been a milk drinker and the supplements just weren't doing it) and my teeth went south FAST.  I ended up have 8 of the most problematic teeth pulled when I was 8 months pregnant under just novacaine.  then I had the rest pulled 2 weeks after my c-section, again with just novacaine and a little valium to semi sedate me.  I had 27 shots of novacaine that time.  I had to get false teeth and after I got them is when my wisdom teeth started coming in one by one.  So over the next 3-4 years I had them removed as they started coming in, but I had to have the cut out before they came in completely otherwise they got in the way of my new teeth.  It wasn't considered a typical extraction where they were just pulled, it was surgical where they were cut out from the gums.

I don't know abuot in early pregnancy, but later on I know it's safe depending on the procedure.

Joy:  Good luck with yours, hopefully yours will be fairly easy unlike some of the horror stories you hear.  But even stll, if we can endure childbirth, we can endure anything :)

I've only had two of mine removed, and one was cut out, only novacaine for both of them...it really didn't hurt like people told me it would, it was sore the rest of the day and after it was a little sore but not as bad as the first day. The only thing that really bugged me is when you have the hole where the tooth used to be and stuff getting in it...that's fun.

I can't believe Zoe is 6 months...time flies by, even when it's not your kid. And just in case, I'd test as well...does it hurt the baby to have a tooth removed when you're pregnant? I've got two more to go and I'm thinking of having them both done before I leave Korea because the dentist I go to here, a Korean lady, is really good.

I've had all 4 wisdom teeth removed....at different times.  For me it really wasn't anymore painful than have any other tooth pulled. I had novacaine and that was it. One of the extractions was done when I was 8 months pregnancy so I don't think it will make a difference, but how cool would that be if you were pregnant again :)  That's how my oldest son got here...he snuck up on us before I got my period after my previous daughter *while i was breastfeeding). She was only 5 months when he was conceived.

I am sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth (although I am going to have to have mine shortly after Marley is born) but I am glad that you are taking care of it and you will feel sooooo much better! I have 2 boys (7 and 3 now just this month) and it seems like this pregnancy is crawling by so slowly (well I think it is but i know it will go by quickly at the 20 week mark)... I think it couldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test *just in case* just because it is always good to know ***just in case*** I hope that it turns out well for you! Let us know how it works out!
