Sore boobs...Cramps...Sleep Deprivation...

The wonderful joys of having a baby. Here I am 6:30am been up since 2:30am because baby Conner wants to play...play....play lol. I don't mind it, it's nothing that a nice warm cup of VERY caffinated coffee can't fix. Well it really can't fix the sore boobs and cramping lol, but works wonders for the sleep deprivation. I know Conner will sleep good later on because he gets circumsized today, so I can always nap when the kids do.

My boobs on the other hand...KILL lol I am finally engorged, and I found that out when hubby accidently elbowed my boob in my sleep....tell ya what, I wasn't asleep long lol. I tried nursing, and he just isn't doing it. He won't really latch, and as of now they are very sore to have him latch on. I know I can always start the BF'ing after the engorgement goes away. But the pain is unbearable.

The cramps are pretty bad too. Kind of like gas cramps, but worse. They are in my lower abdomen and lower back. Im not bleeding anymore or passing clots, so it could be a sign of AF or just my uterus still trying to shrink back down to size. I will ask the doc about it while im there, since all 3 boys have appointments today.

Other than that...I am just enjoying being a mommy again, the next year of sleepless nights....spitups, dirty diapers, and getting pee'd on are all that I look forward to :)

i never really read what everyone has said but if your finding it hurts to much to breastfeed because your engorged then try putting hot cloths on them first...it helps for the let down..therefore it being less painful and maby easier for him to latch on..if your too engoreged he wont be able to latch on properaly anyways..boob is prob to big and hard for his tiny mouth!! lol..try it. good luck..lemme know if it worked for you!!

Thanks for the input!  I can't wait for those sleepless nights!  I hope you are resting up today for later on this evening/night!  Good luck on the breastfeeding too - I know it is healthier for baby, but it also can save you some money.  Try pumping if he won't latch on!

After you shower, since they are leaking because the warmth is what lets the milk start flowing!!  Pump!  I will slightly push on that, because if you can't get him to latch, atleast your relieving the milk.  If it doesn't get relieved every like 5 hours atleast it slows milk production and your milk will stop.  So atleast then you can freeze the milk and save it or hubby can feed him!  :)

Glad Conner is sleep and everything is good, did hubby maybe get scared about the circumsition?  Which one is older Michael or Aiden?

I had always found that, and of course this is when my kids were in the hospital or I wasn't around them, that if I started leaking, and I pumped I always got   more milk then when I waited till they were rock hard.  Granted when they are rock hard, and this will be painful to do, you pump and when you get to where there isn't much coming out, but they are still hard, I had pressed on the hard spot till it started pouring milk out.  Sometimes I had to get my hubby to hold the pump to me while I pressed, or other way around!  It will be painful, so I am warning you!  But best way to get all the milk out, and that even ups the supply too!  A wet warm towel on top or wrapped around will also help while pumping!  Do you have a double pump or a single pump?  I had went and bought a single pump so that after my kids fed, I could pump the rest out to keep milk supply up!  And when you pump one or their nursing the other leaks, this is what I did I would actually while nursing set the pump to my other boob, but not let it pump so all the leaking milk would go into the bottle!!!  And then when I was pumping I would hold a bottle under the other one so the milk would get caught by the bottle instead of losing or wasting milk!  I also wanted milk for the freezer, so if I had an emergency with one kid there was milk to be taken out and fed to the other.  Just wanted to share that with you because it does help!

We are back....Aiden and Michael got their shots. Aiden had 5 and Michael had 2. Aiden screamed once when the needle went in and didnt even cry afterwards. Michael on the other hand, kicked, screamed, and did everything he could not to get those shots, it was heartbreaking and im emotionally drained.

Conner's circumcision went well. I however did not watch but hubby did. He said the only time he cried was when they numbed it, which is a local anestetic, and not some worthless cream. After the numbing shot hubby gave him a bottle, and he slept during the whole procedure....and is still sleeping lol.

Im still in pain lol, the cramps su ck, sometimes worse than a contraction. My poor boobies are rock solid and painful. I love they way they look, being firm, full and perky...but I don't like the way they feel lol. Everytime Conner cries or I hold him I get this surge of pain because I start to leak really bad, and milk just rushes in right behind it lol. The same thing happens when I take a shower....they will leak and then just fill back up.

I will try and nurse or pump after a nap...but thats what im off to do....sleep.

I will post later tonight....if I wake up lmao

LOL.....BTS when their engoreged like that you can shower and you'll start leaking, of course right after is the best time to get conner to try and latch to the side you can get him on.  Right side I think?  Well, I've now been up for 96 hours straight cause were all sick and my son for some reason will not freaking sleep.  So I need to lay down...  I will be back later to check on you!  I hope the circumsizing goes well!

geez! that's that soothing, I'll be having a natural birth and i plan to go through it staying as strong as possible. DH says he wouldn't want me to have a tear or a cut down there. uurrrrhhh!!. I'm really hoping for the best. fancy waking DH in the middle of the night to 'bond' with the baby, woow, he'll really love that, i''m sure he wouldn't even sleep the first few days!

no matter what happens it is very rewarding being a parent...especially to a tiny little innocent one..they learn from us and they are soooo funny...i love it..my DS is 13 months old and i miss him so small...i am getting baby jitters lol.. can't wait for all my friends to have their babies so i can just hold them..i miss that...

BTS those cramps you are experiencing are sucky and they are called after pains...your uterus is going back to size and you will/may experience this until 6-8 weeks pp.. i was on the floor bawling not able to move when i had one of those cramps.. they were just as bad as a contraction...talk about sh*tty lol...

its one thing i dont miss the sleepless nights...when DS won't sleep or has a difficult time it gets sooo frustrating...cuz im so used to sleep now lol

It is all very worth it. All the pain in the world couldn't keep me from enjoying my little dude. Your lucky as this is your first, the healing seems to be easier, but the more you have the harder it is. You have more cramps the more kids you have. Us seasoned mothers don't swell as bad or bleed as long, but the cramps and engorgement su cks lol.

A lot of mothers get discouraged by this time, when baby wants to play from 2am to 5am when yiu have to be up at 8am for a doctors appointment. It's harder without a DB or DH, I did the baby thing twice on my own, and DH is finally home for this one...so it is a relief. I woke him up after I posted this, and told him it was his turn to do a midnight bond with Conner lol.

I was really scared this time around to go through with it all, due to my depression and anxiety issues, and I do have a case of Baby Blues, but im just mainly emotional at the fact that my family is now complete, and that I am one lucky woman to have 3 beautiful babies, and such a wonderful DH.

No matter how tough it gets...hang in there. And remember nothing could ever be bad enough or sore enough to get between a mother and her newborn. And, it does get easier...until terrible 2's, and their teen years lol something I do dread lmao

I can't wait! You may think I am crazy, but I can hardly wait 7 more weeks to go through all of what you are going through! LOL - this is my first though, so I may be feeling differently later...I love your posts because it shows me what I get to look forward too.

I hope you feel better though - cramps sound horrible-sorry you are going through all of this and with two other boys  - yikes!  I will just have my one - and that will probably be plenty~!
