Spotting and Then Nothing

First let me start off by saying that I have had the paraguard iud for the last 18 months. My periods are always around the same time every month and never more then a day or two late. For the last week I have been experiencing breast tenderness and my boobs have grown a cup size. But abnormal when you are expecting a period. I was due for my period on the 5th and it didn't come. I didn't worry. Yesterday the 7th I woke up with a little brown spotting mixed with discharge that was only when I wiped. I figured it was the start of my period, although the hubby and I had roughish sex the night before. Waited the whole day and nothing happened. Again had pink spotting on when I wiped before going to bed. Woke up today and nothing. No spotting, no period, NOTHING. I've been cramping on and off for the last couple of days on my left hand side. I keep feeling like I've started my period only to have nothing be there. I know that paraguard is an extremely reliable form of birth control but I can't help but be a little concerned. Has this happened to anyone before and what was the outcome?

Yes...its how my mom had me lol paragard is the copper iud right?  If so that's what my mom had years ago and it failed for her and here I am.  I would take a pregnancy test in the morning to be sure if you are or not.  Good luck.
