Non Pregnancy related. CAT OWNERS!

Okay so as you can see the mound of cat hair from my cat ( don't worry I don't change the litter box) I am in desperate need of help. I shed my cat monthly, and this is what comes out of my cat, and its still coming out. I had to take a break. So I am asking for some help Cat owners what do you do to maintain the hair. Its everywhere, my cloths, couch, my bed, etc. I want to get it under control now and continue before my baby comes this spring/summer. When I am pretty sure my cats hair will go even more crazy getting rid of his winter coat. I dont want my baby being around all that hair. Please help.

Okay so I'm a cat lover and I have one female domestic shorthair that is worse than my Maine coon. My suggestion is... Vacuuming the cat! Lol and don't let it outside or it will shed more due to seasonal temperatures in your region. Take them to a groomers if they are longer haired or you know what.. Shave them. I know ugly cold kitty but at least the hairs gone for a month or two at a time

Thanks! I am just not ready to have to do this every couple times a week. I need to get a better kind of brush. I lost the one that i had gotten, when i moved to Alaska, so i have been using a comb for now. I will try the wet cloth too and see if that will help. I am going back to work on the 28th from 9am to 6pm and we live an hour away from where i will be working. So i leave like around 7:30 and wont get home until like 7:30 so i cant imagine how much energy I will have. at night to do it.

Yea, I just put that cause some mom's to be make sure to mention it on here. If I was a single mom, I would do it too. Just be a little more overcautious about doing it. But my hubby is in charge of that. I guess I am going to try combing him out every weekend, its just a pain.

The only reason you aren't suppose to change a litter box is due to a parasite.. I am a single mom and mom to be. I asked my doctor if I can change the litter box if I wear gloves and something over my mouth and nose.. She said yes..
I would say the only way to control it some is by brushing them more often. Mine shed but not to bad. Spring time is worse with them losing their winter coat.
