I Tested Positive For Gbs Also. I Plan On Asking A Ton Of Questions At My Next Appt On The Fourth. I Will Post Anything That I Didn't See Posted. So Glad There Are Other Ladies Out There Who Have This. When My Husband And I Found Out We Were Crushed And Then When We Saw What Could Happen I Literally Couldn'tTake It And Cried For 3 Days.

I was GBS+ in 2009 with my first so I had to have the antibiotics with all 3 of mine and will have to have them again with this baby. I delivered all of my kids without any pain medication (I'm not saying there is anything wrong with pain meds, but I simply didn't want them). I personally chose to stay in bed (only got up to use the restroom). But I assume you can walk while in labor if you want to. You'd just have to drag the IV pole with you.

As for laboring at home, I wouldn't recommend it because the antibiotics have to be given over a course of 4 hours. So you'd want to make sure they have enough time to give the full dose so baby is safe.

My doctor had said that as soon as I start feeling any pains to go in so they can hook me up to the anti biotics to reduce any chance of baby getting an infection.

Yea me too I'm on baby #3 due in 9 days and wanted to try and go all natural but I know if I'm stuck on the bed I'll give in. My doctor told me to not labor much at home.

I had to do the iv antibiotics for that w/ my last child & will have to do it again w/ this 1. Yes, you can still get up & go to the bathroom & such. I'm sure you can still go all natural (no pain meds) if that is what you want to do. I personality have had an epidural w/ all my deliveries, but that's my personal choice. Hope this helps. Good luck!
