38 weeks with BRIGHT green BM!

Ok I know this is TMI but I am 38 weeks and 2 days and I had a loose BM and it was bright green! I'm pretty sure it isnt because of to much iron because I have low iron and I dont take iron supplements and just yesterday I had a BM and it was normal ((still loose but normal color)). I was just wondering if anyone knew what was going on? I have a doc appt tomorrow and I will ask my doc about it but in the mean time I'm curious.

Any number of them. You don't have to feel sick to be sick - more than likely you'll not find a cause for it. Heck, even fruity pebbles can turn stool green.

Have you been drinking gaterade or powerade. The dyes in them often turn stools bright green?

Have u ate a lot of grape flavored things or drank grape thinks. Purple foods turn poop green sounds nuts but its true and also iron turns ur poop black. I wouldn't freak out

If you havent eatten or drank anything to change the color then I agree its probably a GI virus. Make sure you talk to your doc about it.

I am 37w1d and I had green stool from drinking gatorade.

what kind of virus could it be? I don't feel sick

Probably a virus then, especially if it's loose. There are dozens of things that can cause it really.

I don't take prenatal vitamins and I haven't eaten anything that would turn it green and it wasnt higlighter green it was a dark green but it was bright? if that makes sense?

Green stool can be caused from virus (most frequently a GI virus) as well as foods you eat. Fruity foods, certain icings, vegetables, fruits, etc can all cause it. Occasional green stool is usually not cause for concern, but if it's frequent it can be a sign of problems.

I don't know if this is out of the ordinary, but my prenatal vitamins say it may cause a change in color of stools and urine?? After I take my prenatal at night and pee, it's like highlighter green, and only after I take it, soo weird! Definitely mention it to your doctor though!
