The Business of Being Born

I can't say I totally agreed with everything projected in this film. For instance,  about the rate of c sections, the love thing,  & how going tothe ob gyn was portrayed.

Rate of c sections: people need c sections for emergency reasons too. Not just because the doctor wants to speed up the process & go home.  Sometimes it is medically safer to have a c section than to deliver vaginally. As far as elective c sections go, I do not agree with that idea.
Love thing: they tried saying like all mammals we release hormones after delivery that make us protect n care n love our child. & those that use drugs like pitocin / epidural & what not don't develop these natural feelings.  That's bull. I've had 2 epidurals both used pitocin & the second my baby was born I had an immediate maternal connection with my babies.  I love them to death.  Their point was, if a monkey had a c section,  it would not care about the baby.  Vs. Having it naturally.  We are not monkeys!  Lol
Ob/gyn thing: its a beautiful thing to have water births and doulas & midwives but that's not for everybody.  I commend those that do that,  but me... I choose to go to have an ob /gyn & deliver at a hospital with drugs if I need them because I feel safer.  I like knowing the outcome is good & not predictable.that's just me. But to mske those that want to have a doctor & hospital delivery feel less than those who have home births and do it naturally is not kool at all.

Just my thoughts.
