You're welcome. Hopefully the doc can clarify and let your mind rest at ease.
I'm still going to ask my doctor to make sure. @ luxah okay that makes me feel better. I don't want my baby sick
From what I understand now (I looked it up) is if you get the vaccine while pregnant it will protect baby, then they will get the shot again over the course of their life. So not everyone the baby comes in contact with needs it. Because the baby itself has been vaccinated against it.
Also my mom doesn't see a point because she didn't get it with my brother or when my niece and nephew were born so she doesn't see a point now.
My dad claims that he will just get the flu. Said there is no need for it and what not. But yet he claims he is sick all the time . So idk. I'm not going to be here the first my husband and I are leaving the first to TN.
Where I live they give the mum the whooping coughjab and this should then protect baby. Im have mine with the flu jab next Wednesday.
I personally am not allowing anyone around my child who has not had their vaccines or booster shots. I am not going to allow my child to be put at risk for someones (Imo) ignorant decision. I respect that some people are against them, however that's why these illnesses are beginning to increase. Because more and more people are going against them without brushing up on facts.
Hm. Well, we are hearing of more cases of whooping cough showing up. Vaccines held it for a very long time. Your dad is probably vaccinated but needs a booster. We are pretty much all vaccinated when we are young for it. And your baby will get that vaccine, right? They get their first shot including whooping cough vaccine at 2 months and within your system if you get the vaccine, your baby will get some protection.
It's unfortunate that he feels that way. Just in the last few years has there been a push for the 'circle' of protection. Ten years ago, they didn't even talk about this with expectant moms. Times are a changing.
All you can do is ask him and then make him wash his hands and monitor r if he isn't feeling well and then keep him away from the baby. And your baby starts the vaccines pretty young so it is just a short time that it is a worry.
Glad you are vaccinating your baby. Some decide not to do it with their children putting EVERYONE at risk. good luck
Is there a reason why? Is he allergic to an ingredient or afraid of needles? I have no clue what the whooping cough is but I know none of my family ever got it when any of my siblings or cousins were born. (Theres 11 of us total) and everyone survived.
