I had lost hope in having a baby shower after my husband had said we weren't having one but there was a twist after today. Today was my husband's newphew's party & this lady that knows my husband  & his brother for yrs loves them both like if they were her sons & I met her for the 1st time today. Since she saw my belly she started saying she's going to plan my babyshower next month & changed our date for Saturday Oct. 18. I think it's nice of her & I appreciate it but since she has hookups she wants to do it at 9pm with dj & pay some lady to come sing for 2 hrs she's driven me nuts talking nonstop about my baby shower & shes going to have a proffessional stylist do my hair & make up. I felt extremely bad because she made me lie to her husband by asking him if they can be our witnesses for me & my husband's wedding..We already got married but the lady's husband doesn't know. The lady's husband thinks we're getting married by court & that she's planning the party for after the ceremony. I don't feel comfortable my husband wasn't present when we were talking about this but I told him everything once we got home. My husband tlked to the lady over the phone but she doesn't understand that we don't want a big party & she's planning on borrowing a beauty salon or huge ballroom type of place since she has hookups. :( I appreciate everything but it's too much I'm already stressing cause I hate lying to people & she made me lie to her husband & put me on the spot. He kept asking things about the ceremony & what time,place it would be & the lady kept answering for me & didn't let me speak. And her husband is going to hire my husband to work with him in construction.

My husband told her how uncomfortable we feel about her lying to her husband about it although he was contributing ideas for the party. Specially because I just met them today & lying already I feel terrible. My husband told her to tell her husband the truth & if she wants to help out for the baby shower that we would appreciate it. I don't mind the lady organizing my baby shower because my husband & I don't know anything about it but we're not okay with the location & as long as I can pick out my invitations I'm happy but only if she tells her husband the truth.

I would let her know that although you really appreciate everything she's trying to do, that it is your baby shower & she needs to stop being so controlling. My step mom got like that when planning mine lol she drove me nuts! Just let her know how you feel hun. You shouldn't have to lie to her husband about something like this, it's not fair of her to put you in that kind of situation. I hope everything goes well and works out the way you want. It's nice that she wants to help! But there is a limit to how much you can take lol especially if it's not something you want. Good luck! :)
