anyone else afraid?

I will be exactly 37 weeks tomorrow and I have become so afraid. Everything is making me worry. Im afraid of giving birth mostly but im also afraid of not doin anything right for my baby. Im so afraid of giving birth that I couldnt sleep last night. I guess I just need advice and comforting words. I know I shouldnt stress out over this but I cant help it, every day that passes, I become more and more afraid.

Did anyone else feel this way?

Everything you do has the potential for something to go wrong, we just usually don't think that way. Just drinking a cup of water has the potential for asphyxiation. It's normal to worry, many many women do. You've never done it before and don't know what to expect. Even mothers with multiple children worry, as it's all different.

Remember you need to do what works best for YOU. If you wanna lay in labour, do it. If you wanna jump around and walk, do it. Be firm with what you want and don't let anyone tell you you're weak or stupid for your choice. We all cope differently.

the majority of the time, nothing goes wrong, keeping active and upright during labour and delivery n(staying off the bed) if you can  all helps and there is less medical intervention when you do this :)

I wasn't scared of birth, I was however scared of caring for a newborn. I didn't handle kids well, never wanted kids and detested the entire idea. After she came, it all kinda disappeared. Things will come naturally and you'll just know what to do and when to do it. Birth... That's a bit of a harder one. It's inavoidable (baby has to come out) so the best you can do is talk to those who have done it and educate yourself on both the bad and good. YES it can turn nasty, but in most cases it goes very well and isn't anything to fear.

its not unusal to feel this way getting to the end of your pregnancy, especially if this is your first baby, all these worries and fears are natural and normal, with the birth, there really isnt anything to be afraid of, its the unknown factor that is probably whats making your afraid, instead of feeling this way, why not try to turn it around to the positive that it is, you will soon have your baby, and giving birth is whats going to get you there, if you carry this fear you have about giving birth when you actually go into labour, it can actually slow labour down, you need to just go with the flow, and relax about it if you can, that will let your body do what its ment to do, as for when bub gets here, like with anything new, its a learning experence and you do learn as you go,  just remember if giving birth was that bad nobody would go back for seconds and thirds and so on :) you will be able to do it :)
