It's the same in all developed countries. Your employer has to legally provide you with a safe working environment. If they cannot do so, they are legally required to suspend you from work on full pay. If your manager retaliates by not giving you any hours contact human resources. There is usually somebody in the health and safety or risk department that will be able to help you.
Im assistant manager at a subway and im 16weeks1day with twins ive had my manager cut my hours to about 25-30 i used to work 35-40 . I also sit in the back once my feet start hurting and my co-corkers dont care they help me with whatever i need. Just talk to your boss:) i think my boss worries more than me lol he always makes sure im feeling okay before i even punch in, and he asks how the babies are doing. Im sure if you just let your boss know he'd understand:)
Why don't you have your doctor write a weight restriction? I got one for 20 pounds at 8weeks and my employer bad to legally follow it.
Do you know if its the same in Australia? its just that im casual so if I complain or anything they just wont give me shifts because they dont have to
Thats why i hate McDonalds, i use to be a manager a one didnt like it at all. But they have to let you take it easy its the law , i work at jack in the box and they let me sit while i take orders in the drive thru. Because it really hard form me to stand for 6-8. You should definitely talk to the highest manager, you have rights! Good luck with everything
If that shift manager is not receptive contact human resources and explain the situation, they generally will help a manager understand the issue and your legal rights on the American's with disability act. Not that you are disabled in a traditional sense but you have physical limitations due to a medical condition. Your boss needs to start being more considerate. Its not special treatment, its the managers legal obligation to make aure that you and your baby are safe in the workplace. They cant tell you not to go to the bathroom or tjat your not working hard enough coz you dont lift heavy boxes,, that all comes under discrimination. Im 26weeks this tuesday and its hard enough coping with working and being pregs without your boss being hard on you. Definitely speak up hunni, you and your baby have quite a lot of rights in the workplace nowdays
They are suppost to go easier on u becauae you are pregnant.. Talk to ur manager and tell him or her that its getting kinda hard for u to lift things
