Trying for a second baby - quick question!

Hi girls!

I am new to this site and figured I'd look for some help/advice from other mom's. I am a mom of a 9 month old baby boy and my husband and I are trying again for our second (and final!) baby.

My last period was Feb 20th and I believe I ovulated around March 10th (kind of late)... we had sex every other day during my fertile week. My cycle since I stopped breast feeding in November has been around 30 days.

I was expecting my period 3 days ago (3/20)... but since 3/18 I've been cramping - mostly at night time - but today I cramped all day long. When it started on the 18th I was a little bummed because I thought I was about to get my period. I'm annoyed (but hopeful) because my period isn't here yet.

Curious that I might be pregnant, I took a test... it came back negative. Still no period. I know I'm fertile (took one month of trying with my son) and I've never had issues with my ovulation cycles before... the only thing I can think of is that since I ovulated late, maybe I need to wait another week before testing?

I'm gassy, crampy and at times very dizzy (especially getting out of bed at night)... with my first son, I felt hungover at week 4. This would technically be week 4 if I am pregnant...

I wish I hadn't tested, because the negative result has me a little discouraged.

Has anyone had a similar experience??? Could it be just a late period? I've NEVER cramped without my period coming THAT day! 5 days of cramps with no period is making me think that I'm hopefully pregnant!

Advice? Experience? Thanks.

ohh yeah, if you ovulate late your period will be late as well, but by about 14 days past ovulation you should get a positive, i'd wait another week or a few days and test again if no period, good luck!!!
