Trying to conceive

Have been trying to conceive for 8+ months now- both me and my husband are healthy 26 year olds. Never was on birth control. This has been the most difficult time for me. So many of our friends and family have become pregnant the past year. It's so difficult to deal with- I feel awful for being jealous! We have begun charting and doing OTK to pinpoint exactly when the ideal time is. I should be getting my period on Dec 2nd- so far, all HPTs came back negative. Is this too soon to test? Should I just wait until I've actually missed my period?

I know the feeling all too well! How long have you been TTC? I, too, am due soon. I was actually due today, and so far, nothing yet! But of course, I am cramping so I know inevitably I'm probably not! I understand what you mean about the shows- I also work with low income moms and counsel them in nutrition as well as their children- I have had plenty of moms with 4 or 5 kids and they are so young! I don't get it. What types of tools have you been using? We chart regularly, this month we also did OPK. I am thinking about starting to chart BBT as well. I just would like to know what I am doing wrong. Everyone tells me to "stop stressing" and "it'll happen when it happens".....

It is so nice to hear that I'm not the only one feeling that way! It has been so frustrating TTC for months while everyone around me seems to have no problem and a lot just gave birth to beautiful babies. Shows like Teen Mom also drive me nuts! All these young mothers who arent ready getting to have a baby...I want one, I'm ready, where's my baby? There is also constant pressure from my family which doesnt help. Every time we go to a family event its "Will you hurry up and get pregnant already" or "What's taking you so long."  Like I can just snap my fingers and make it happen! I wish! I am due for AF in a day or so too and have been unable to prevent the urge to test even though I know it's too early.  Now with the stress of knowing we charted, used OPKs, BD every other day as instructed especially during that fertil window and then a wait that seems like FOREVER to so far only see a negative, the family pressure and the up coming holiday where a BFP would be the best Christmas gift ever...I want it all so bad but I'm also torn with letting it go for a while. I know all the stress just wont help. Sorry for the vent but at least I dont have to feel like I'm the only one feeling jealous.

I  am definatly not the normal on this, but for some reason my body doesnt produce a strong HcG soon.  I am pregnant with my third at 8 weeks.  With my first two I didnt have a pos HPT until 8 weeks ( 4 weeks after missed period) and with this one didnt test positive until 6 weeks(2 weeks after missed period).  There is a chance you could be like me.  I wish you best of luck.

I'm so sorry I know the feeling, it took me 34 months to get pregnant and I had a friend who had an oops baby and got an abortion and a few friends who had an oops baby and kept it them and it was so hard to go through ttc and watching that happen!  The ovulation predictor kits are wonderful!!  We also used Pre Seed brand lube which helps sperm get to where it needs to go and stay alive in the process of getting there.

I usually didn't take hpt until the day after AF should arrive only bc you are so luckily to get a false negative before AF is due and the pregnancy tests can get expensive. If I didn't get AF when it was due I'd test with first morning urine using a early detection digital test like first response. Most of the tests are only 60-70 percent accurate prior to a missed period.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!
