My sister was induced. She knows that if at all possible I want a natural birth, but she said if they give me something to start contractions, I need to br ready to get an epidural. I've heard that from almost everyone that's been induced. My sister went into natural labor, but they had to give her pitocin because she wouldn't dilate enough, and she said the contractions after the pitocin were A LOT worse, and she ended up getting an epidural.
It can be very intense and painful... mine was really bad as my daughter was stuck, face up and her head was against my spine the whole time... i ended with a csection after i didnt progress past 7cm cause she never came down... but it was pretty crazy and im not sure what it would be like normally but it hurt A LOT and i loved my epideral!! it took ALL the pain away completely!!! and after being up all night with 12 hours of extreme pain it was truly amazing! I dont think epiderals are the easy way out either, i dont believe a person is any better than the next from their choices for delivery as everyone is different and no one can say how much pain the next person feels... i had shooting pain down both my legs and my whole torso was in so much pain... and there was no relief "inbetween" contractions... when they would check me they asked for me to let them knoe when it was better and it never was.... it honestly was constant... i heard the house keeping lady ask the nurse if i was okay lol as i was waiting to get ot 4cm to get to go to labour and delivery.... i did get to go into the tub for an hour and it helped the most outta everything and they had given me morphine at one time adn it did nothing!!!
We get given pethidine over here but it's probs the same thing .. did she choose to get epidurals with all her deliveries.. I was due on the 8th March I have a specific birth plan and stuff but they want me in on sunday to be induced if he isn't here by then so i'm preparing myself for what might be lol
I personally havent been induced but my twin sister had to be induced with all three of her boys. The 1st two there due dates came and went she had to be induced with pitocin, she said it was painful the contractions were very painful she had to get the epidural, with the last baby she was induced a month early due to pre eclampsia they had used something other then pitocin for this one she said it was even more painful then being induced with the pitocin had the epidural with this one as well, other then the painful contractions she had very good delivery's
