Weight loss while pregnant?

I know it isn't recommended and frowned upon  but I'm sure it isn't killer completely. I want to lose eight because at 2 months pregnant I already gained 6 pounds. Call it selfish. Call it what you will. I do not intend on blowing the heck up. So any suggestions on how to diet? (No not like starve, but what foods to avoid and what portions of what) I should start walking now!

My doctor only said it was ok with me because im big (Over 200) and i only lost weight because of eating healthy. My baby is growing fine. But in a way i agree with everyone else, loosing weight on purpose when pregnant isnt a smart idea. But eating healthy will make it easier to return to your pre-pregnancy weight.

I gained 60lbs with my first. Lost it in the first 2 months. Gained 29 with my second and lost it in 7 days after birth. And I wasn't unhealthy when I gained 60 lbs the first time as I was underweight and my doctor wasn't concerned. Just stay active during your pregnancy and drink lots of water

I'm going to be 22 weeks and have only gained 4 pounds.  I think as long as you eat but eat healthy you're fine.  Some women think its OK to eat Whatever they want and gain 50-60 pounds... that's WAY to much and totally unnecessary. If you have a medical condition it of course can happen and that's fine BC you can't do anything about it.. but otherwise there is no reason to gain so much.. that's why doctors say gain 25-35 pounds BC that's normal. They even say if you're gaining more or too quickly you have to let them know so they can educate you on nutrition..

I eat whatever I want while I'm pregnant. My babys are born healthy and within 3 months of giving birth I'm back to my prepregnancy weight.  Its NEVER a good idea to lose weight while pregnant. And any dr that tells you its ok to lose weight is a FOOL. If your not over weight gaining 35lbs is normal.  Its very selfish to deprive yourself during a time when you are nuturing another life.  You are not your friend and every pregnancy is different.  This is the worse possible time for you to consider losing weight. And yes your dr is a FOOL if he tells you its ok to do it.

I have cute little belly ATM and my boob's have grown 2 size's. You don't need to diet. You just need to do it so that u r getting the correct amount of nutrients and vitamins etc that u and ur baby need to stay healthy. I struggle to eat some days just coz i have no appetite or energy, so I make sure I have little healthy things around to keep me full. The first trimester weight is mainly bloating and a massively increase in blood volume and fluid. Just go with it. If u r worried, do Pilates and go for walks. It's going to happen, but u don't need to diet to keep it under control.
