Weight loss while pregnant?

I know it isn't recommended and frowned upon  but I'm sure it isn't killer completely. I want to lose eight because at 2 months pregnant I already gained 6 pounds. Call it selfish. Call it what you will. I do not intend on blowing the heck up. So any suggestions on how to diet? (No not like starve, but what foods to avoid and what portions of what) I should start walking now!

Eat lots of fruit veggies and protein stay away from carbs. Being healthy isnt bad but over doing it is, just be careful.

Honestly, you are pregnant you are going to gain weight. It goes hand in hand. Just eat healthy and don't worry about the weight gain. Don't eat crap and you won't balloon.

I actually do care about weight gain because I feel it isn't an excuse to let yourself go or to just say feed the baby what it wants. I wanna look and feel good the entire time. A friend gained a total of 10 pounds. Went right back straight after.

I don't think ten pounds total is very healthy...

Your going to gain. Walk daily and eat as healthy as possible. Don't set a goal on losing...set a goal on maintaining. You can do pregnancy safe exercising as well. I did everything by the book and still gained almost sixty pounds and I'm now ten days post partum and have already lost almost thirty pounds (a lot of it was water retention) And I must say...whether you agree or not... your ******* attitude *****. Get off your high horse and come down to reality.

I went with the doctor she went too and he is the type that doesn't like weight gain in the first trimester and he applys strict healthy diets. My friends daughter is now one and healthy and she was petite while pregnant. I wanna do the same but even if the doctor days it's fine idk.

You should only gain a little bit of weight while pregnant if your over weight. The most I've ever gained is 11 lbs but that's because I'm over weight

for youre pregnancy to be consodered "normal/healthy" youre supposed to gain weight. People who are over weight pre pregnancy are supposed to gain 15-25 pounds, people at normal weight are supposed to gain 25-35 and under weight 28-40 pounds. Yes, in the first trimester it could be a little harder to gain some, because of morning sickness. But your not supposed to be losing weight purposly. Its not aboit your cute body anymore, its about the health of youre child.

I've gained just over 2lbs. I'm 16w 2d. I eat what I want. When i want. And how much i want. The weight isn't sticking. But at least I know that I'm eating regularly and healthily (3/4 of the time) and my baby is getting the nutrients it needs. It's impossible to compare ur pregnancy to somebody else's. Everyone has different metabolism.

Can we eat celery? Yes right? && I know it isn't about my "cute body" but it's still important to stay on shape regardless. My sister always complains about how big she stayed yet never did or does anything about it. & agh 2 pounds! And I feel nothing at all. No breat tenderness, no nausea, no morning sickness. No cravings. Nothing. Just gain of weight. Which is annoying as heck. Call me selfish or crazy but I still think pregnancy isn't an excuse so gain an excessive amount of weight. My sister tells me to eat anything I want and I feel guilty about it.

I know I'll gain more than 6 pounds. I am fully aware. I'm just saying 6 at 2 months is excessive!

It's really not excessive. Don't be so concerned. Honestly if you plan on breastfeeding the weight will go fast. I agree that you shouldn't use pregnany as an excuse to gain excessive amounts but as mentioned it is HEALTHY to gain weight during pregnancy. Eat healthy and the weight gain will no be excessive.

Your sister stayed big BC she didn't want to work at it. I gained 75lbs with my first pregnancy and lost every bit.BC I was motivated to do so. If you are worried about staying in shape then eat healthy and do pregnancy friendly exercises but don't risk the health of your child to lose not only what was already gained but MORE than what you have gained.

Thank you :) I appreciate your comments! I guess you're right about "healthy" weight gain. I'm mostly just concerned about the aftermath!

I have cute little belly ATM and my boob's have grown 2 size's. You don't need to diet. You just need to do it so that u r getting the correct amount of nutrients and vitamins etc that u and ur baby need to stay healthy. I struggle to eat some days just coz i have no appetite or energy, so I make sure I have little healthy things around to keep me full. The first trimester weight is mainly bloating and a massively increase in blood volume and fluid. Just go with it. If u r worried, do Pilates and go for walks. It's going to happen, but u don't need to diet to keep it under control.
