I am curious to find out myself. I have no children yet but I have 5 tattoos. One on my spine at the tip of my back, two on my chest, one on my foot, and one on my ribcage. I'd have to say the ribcage hurt the worst but I think its because that tattoo is about the size of a piece of legal paper and took almost 9 hours to conplete.

I'd give it atleast a month or two after you've finished breastfeeding. Just to give your body chance to get back to normal.
I'm probably not going to get my tattoo until my daughter is about 1.

I have both feet done (twice including touch up), the entire outside of one calf, both inner ankles, upper back, hip, and one wrist twice including touch up). The worst one was one of the inside calf because I found out I am allergic to red ink and it took three months to heal. I am spent a lot of time and money under the needle for my ink. I am afraid of birth thoigh. I am 100% sure it will be worse as I am planning on medication free. I will be getting a tattoo for baby after breastfeeding

I have my entire side done and the back of my neck all the way down my spine and lots more.. Have given birth twice. And I alwaysssss say  giving birth is worse. They always ask if I need a break and im like nooo I gave birth, I got this! I dont think its the bony area is that bad, I think the chunky parts are the worst!

Small tattoos hurt more than larger ones. With a small tattoo it is over so quickly that your body doesn't have time to start releasing the endorphins which help you deal with the pain.
My tattoo artist also told me he would never tattoo his foot because of the pain and that he had seen grown men pass out from the pain.

I havent been through childbirth yet not until babys ready to come out lol but i have 6 tattoos:2 are on my wrists,1on my foot,1on my chest,1on my lower back and the last one was on my side none of them hurt and i was always told the foot side and wrists hurt the tattoo artist told me he would never tattoo his foot because of the pain so im guessing once you have your beautiful baby a tattoo wont hurt at all.

I have four tattoos, and honestly they don't hurt. And all of mine are in 'painful' places. Foot, hip, spine. Wrist. Tue one on my foot stung slightly when they were doing near my toes, but honestly I've never thought they were painful. And I am a very tiny person. 100lbs soaking wet kind of tiny, so my bony spots are very bony. Don't worry

I'll be the odd one out..
All my tatts(i have 7) hurt worse than giving birth. At least with birth,  you can get the epidural.
Birth didn't hurt for me at all.
It just depends on your body.
Labor was definitely not as bad as I thought.

My tattoo tickled through most of it, until it was on my bone it hurt. I havent had my baby yet but i dont think they could compare to what Ive felt thus far, pregnancy wise.

Child birth is way worse.. I'm a ftm but I do have tats and some in sensitive places. If you can't handle pain then getting ink on your side is NOT for you. Ribs and side tummy is sooooo sensitive.

For a first tat I reccomend the shoulder blade. It doesn't hurt very much there.

Tattoos don't hurt. Trust me, I got 5 of em 3 of them on boney areas lol. If you can go through labor, a tattoo is like a paper cut

i don't know because im at FTM with no tats. but, i hope you're waiting until like a year after birth to get that tattoo. your skin and stuff will still be tender due to you giving birth. & can cause infections and for it to bleed more than usual. most tattoo artist won't do it until around that time so your body had time to heal & they won't be sued if some goes wrong. my opinion though.. hope its pretty. :)

Tatoos really don't hurt unless you get them on your foot, ribs, or anywhere right on bone. Everywhere else is not THAT bad... even if you have a low pain tolerance. I don't think you could compare it to child birth at all lol
