What is wrong with me?

I have PCOS and have been on the pill for 3years, I never missed my period whilst on the pill, but the doctor advised me to stop to see if my cycle had gone back to normal. I stopped in NOVEMBER and that was also my last period.

However, from December I started having unprotected sex with my partner, whilst on holiday with him in December, i spotted atleast 3times for three consecutive days. I thought it was my period but no it wasn't. Now I am feeling bloated and nauseated, have just had a negative pregnancy test.

I am going to see the doctor on monday if i can get an appointment. Has anyone been in a similar situation please?

Just so you know when I was diagnosed My BMI was borderline low for my height.  And I had no outward symptoms either unfortunately that doesn't mean it will be easier or harder you just have to find out when your ready.  I would still ask about your OB about metformin it will regulate your hormones and hopefully start your period over time.  Oh and if your not ready to pregnant, don't assume that because you don't have a period that your not ovulating most likely you're not, but it's happened before.   I agree with joyrenee even if you are normal weight or even under weight diet and exercise can make a huge difference in your hormone levels.  Maybe even bring on a period.  Good luck hun.

I weight 68/70kg and 5ft 9 so my BMI and all is okay, even the gp said i will not need to be on a fertility pill to be able to conceive as I do not have the features or symptoms of PCOS except irregular periods.

As much as I would love to be pregnant, am just not ready for it. Will go back to the doctor tomorrow but if I can, I would wait for 6months to see if my cycle will correct itself without having to use the pills.

I appreciate y'all.

Common to have irregularity with PCOS. Pregnancy symptoms are too vague and we can even conjure up symptoms if we believe we are pregnant (I know I have done this before and swore up and down I was pregnant!). Your body also has to try to adjust without the reliance of hormonal birth control.

Most likely you may not get a period or ovulate without some assistance. I wouldn't recommend birth control to treat or cure PCOS. There needs to be a more stringent regiment of healthy eating, exercise to manage weight, some drugs or homeopathic remedies, etc.

Hi I have PCOS also and I don't have periods at all without medication.  They will probably give you progesterone (after blood pregnancy test) to start your period.  They also should put your on metformin to help regulate your hormone levels, that's why you were able to have a period on the pill.  But metformin can help you get pregnant and also help sustain a pregnancy once you conceive.  good luck hun Hopefully the doctor can see you soon.
