Lol..i think that's a wives tale.  I'm 37 weeks with a healthy baby boy. I wait in the kitchen for my food to finish all the time

Its funny cuz a natural instinct kicked in once I found out I was pregnant I never stand directly infront  of a running microwave n to tell u the truth I don't know why lol I use to before being pregnant but I tend to go off to the side but its fine to use them n stand infront I just now have a parnoid thing that something will happen lol

It's completely safe to use them and be around them.

I tended to avoid the microwave when pregnant, though I still used it I would walk away when it was running.  I'm sure someone would have to have an old, leaky model for it to really be an issue.

Literally the DAY, the very HOUR we found out I was pregnant, my boyfriend asked me to walk away from the microwave while it was running lol! I humored him. Unless you stand there with your belly in it, running, for 9 months, I don't think it'll cause an issue at all lol

I've never heard of that. The radiation is contained inside the microwave though so unless you're setting your belly on top of it while you're heating food I think you'll be fine. Lol you'll want to be sure not to get your belly too close to the stove while you're cooking though. A lot of babies don't like the heat that close and get irritated.
