I did not take prenatal vitamins at all with my daughter and nothing was wrong with her when she was born now she is 5 and I do not take them now and my baby is perfectly healthy and so am I. But there its other alternatives to those but I cannot take anything.
I take th e,target gummy ones at night. They do not have iron and iv never felt sick from them. About a month ago my iron levels were a lil low so in the am I started taking one flinestone vitamin to get the iron. Try the gummy ones there really like fruit snacks.
I take vitafusion prenatal vitamins. They are gummies in the flavors of lemon, berry, and cherry, are an excellent source of dha, vitamins a/c/d, omega 3, have as much folic acid as 5 cups of spinach, and are so easy to take. I didn't take any with my first kid even though I should have but nothing bad really happened because of it. Odds are if I hadn't found these guys I still wouldn't take them. They are easy to find, babies r us Walmart, Walgreens, and several grocery stores sell them!
I don't think Flinstones have DHA or Folic acid....two major things you need. @prettyfacetee. The Belly Bar Prenatal brand doesn't have DHA, but I would suggest to purchase FISH oil pills to cover it, while you're on the brand. And then once you go back to your prenatals you'll be covered by the DHA
Yeah it could be the iron in them that's causing you to be sick
I started getting sick of my prenatal vitamins as well. Prenatals are supposed to cover what vitamins you don't eat during the day from fruits veggies...etc. All vitamins are vital to your childs growth and development. I started feeling queezy around the same time as you with my vitamins, and I switched to chewables (and I don't mean flinstones) Go to walgreens, theres a brand called Belly Bar in the prenatal section. I took those for a few weeks and felt great. Then switched back to my prescription and felt fine. It's just a phase. Make sure also you taken them with a full stomach and preferably around bed time
I take Flintstones gummy vitamins. I compared the vitamins in both, and they're basically the same. Prenatal vitamins made me sick too, but i've had no problems with the flintstone ones. Its better than your baby getting no vitamins :)
You really need them because they give your baby all the vitamins it needs as well as yourself because your baby relies on the nutrients coming from you....my doctor all stresses the importance of them....talk to your doctor about getting some that won't make you sick...Because you and your baby need them
