Why can't I get pregnant?

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for about 14months and I have yet to concieve, I have talk to my doctors but they tell me every thing is normal. My husband has a child from a previous relationship and I know it's not him. and now I my cycle has stopped (and no I'm not pregnant.) Now b.c of this they want to start me on birth control but that is the last thing I want to take. I am 21 and his child is 4 I don't want our kids too seprate in age, I am just finishng up college so I'm ready but doctors don't think so. I'm not immature or anything like that I take very excellent care of my step-son. I'm just ready for our own baby!

Thanks for the advice, I've had ultrasounds and bloodwork, they say I'm "textbook" which is perfectly normal. I just don't get it I have followed the cycle schedual, had sex on ovulating day, taken plenty of zinc "natural supplement for getting prego" I just don't know anymore. They say I am perfectly fine, but I have been w.o birth control or anything else for the entire 14 months, Time I guess I just came on looking for advice. Thanks so much!

Well your doctors should have absolutely no say about whether you're ready or not UNLESS there's a physical problem that would pose a risk to you or a baby. It sounds like you need to find another doctor who will run some tests and help you figure out why you're not ovulating, because without a period you can't conceive. I'm sorry that the doctors are being such a pain in the behind, but you need to find a new one asap and begin running blood tests and getting ultrasounds to make sure everything inside is normal...and then they need to get your periods started again so you can ovulate and hopefully conceive. Good luck hon
