I'm not sure how it works overseas but normally in the uk it's very unlikely that an employer would hire someone who's so far along. Have you tried exercising your right to whistleblowing? Your co workers have no right singling you out just because your pregnant. It's a form of discrimination so I would report it immediately, both verbally and in written form. Do hope you are able to get this resolved. Best of luck, don't back down x
Oh forgot to say, a risk assessment should have been set in place for you so you should by rights be able to refuse a task your not comfortable with. Also, moving and handling techniques should be in place and under no circumstances should you be straining yourself to the point where you are uncomfortable. I'm a care assistant in a care home so I dare say the roles.are slightly similar.. although I do live in the uk so if you are overseas I would check your employment contract just to make sure x
I kno my main employer whom I work under knows that I'm prego and seen a dr note but I have that type of attitude if you don't like it find someone else. But it sometimes get to me because I need the money lol but thank u ^^^ :)
Yeah I know how that feels chick. I'm currently being refused maternity allowance through work out of the blue so have to wait 8weeks for the job centre/government to give me an answer so that's no pay for me! ***** even more since baby's due in 10days lol x
Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything will work out sooner than later.. Good luck and thank u
If you get a note from your doctor saying what you can and cannot do they legally can't make you do it. And as someone else suggested I would file a complaint about people singling you out for being pregnant, thats not fair at all.
What I meant by doctors note is that if you feel you cannot fulfill your duties do to being pregnant and your doctor writes a note stating the work needs to be minimal or something. Then they would have to find you a different position in which you could fulfill all the duties. Ex. There was no ac where I worked and I was almost passing out due to the heat. I got a note from my doctor stating I needed to be in ac and my boss had to put me somewhere there was ac or else I could legally sue them...
