I left 24Hrs after delivery. At my hospital, the baby never leaves you, they do the hearing test and blood sample off the foot in the room. I Changed every single diaper. They washed her right after birth and not again. They took the cathader out right away and helped me walk to the bathroom about 20 mins after delivery. If your getting epidural, they take it out right after delivery and you feel movement again pretty quick. I could walk to the bathroom by myself after but it is painful as if your whole stomach is going to fall out. And be prepared for big, I mean big, blood clots to come out when u pee for the first day or two. They never checked down there after, but if you get stitches, they give you all the cleaning spray for you to use everytime you pee for the next week. And cooling pads. It is painful to walk around for a week after too. And ya, that's about the jist of it :)

I think it depends on where you live,I am in the uk and with my first i stayed in one night and went home the next day, with my 2nd i went home 4hours after having her,I could walk but i will not lie i felt winded,i think it is because you use alot of muscles to push the baby out that you necessarily do not use.I had to do everything for my babys,no one helps in the hospital.I only got checked down there during labour and when being stitched up afterwards

They'll also monitor the eating habits of munchkin too.

Typically they keep us two days after delivery - least thats how long I was. They do hearing tests on the baby while there too. Your pediatrician will be there when bubs is born too. And if you can walk afterward more power to ya! They also watch you for your first BM after labor and monitor how much you urinate. They'll coach you on after care of yourself too. And yes you get to change diapers - they can help you there too in case you need it.

Depends on your delivery and how you're feeling. I stayed 4 days, I had a c-section. Only could start changing and taking care of baby the 2nd day. If you have a natural delivery chances are you'll stay 2 days at the most depending on when you deliver and no complications, you'll probably change the majority of the diapers, or whenever the baby is in the nursery and needs a change, you can help give the bath but usually they do it and they may allow you to watch and show you how it's done.
