I'm sorry I can't really answer that. My husband and I are both in the military so we don't have to pay for our health care. But I do know SOME insurance policy's will pay for up to 3 IUI cycles I think. You would have to check with your insurance. I do know IUI is less expensive than IVF. I would just talk to your doctor and find out from them for the best answer on price.
is an IUI expensive
thanks
My husband and I had been trying for a long time and when we finally got his analysis done they told us he only had 3 million mobile sperm. And I guess that is EXTREMELY low (normal is about 20 million or more). So even though he had already been avoiding hot tubs and hot baths/showers, drinking caffine and alcohol and he was watching his diet his count was still low. We also had him start taking FertileAid for Men along with the Motility Boost and Count Boost FertileAid. After only one month of taking these supplements (which he had approved by his doctor) his count increased to 9 million. They say you should take the supplements for up to 3 months to for best results but as I said he had only taken it for 1 month and had that big of an increase.
He also had to have a varicocele repair. That is something to ask your doctor to check for. It can restrict the sperm from being ejaculated. He still has not gone back for his final analysis after his surgery but he will be going soon. He acctually stopped taking the supplements already as well because.... We're pregnant!!! We had an IUI done on 9 June and became pregnant that way. For the IUI he again only had 9 million sperm. Basically what I'm saying is don't loose hope you have options. Just discuss with your husband and your doctor what is best for you and what would help you out the most.
Best of luck to you! I hope things work out for you and your husband!
he might to look at some of his life style choices ... has any of them increase or changed recently...
Smoking, drinking, hot tubs, etc all effect sperm count... I unfortunately wish I could help more but I dont know alot about sperm analysis
