thank you ladies
just mention it to your doctor and he will take care of you. he's not going to let anything like that happen and they will give you medicine that will relax you.
WHen I was talking to the dr at the start of my d&c, i was pretty freaked out as i had neverh ad surgery.. THey said they were going to give me a light sedative to relax me befor they started. I remember nothing after that until i wasin recovery and I guess I was pretty out.
It is scary.. Do they put you fully a sleep when you get a c-section? I remember my friend telling me that she was awake during it?
Are you for sure have a csection because of your prior surgeries?
ill try to talk to him but hes not avery easy dr to talk to he dosnt give many answers
Talk to your doctor about reactions you've had in the past to anesthesia, you can always request that they try something different. It is within your rights as a patient. I know for me personally, when they did my D&C, they were surprised by how much they had to pump into me to knock me out. I have an extremely high tolerance and you might as well. Also, ask for a light sedative beforehand. A lot of places will give you one anyway so that you don't panic beforehand and cause the anesthesia to wonk out on you.
When you do have your C-section just remember to try to stay calm as you're going in, adrenaline beforehand can cause anesthesia to seem like it's not working or in some cases can make it work too well. Also, try to be a chatty as possible while getting anesthesia, it's their big indicator that it's working, that's how they found out it wasn't working on me. After two minutes the nurse goes "Are you feeling sleepy?" in a really confused voice and that's when they decided to up my dosage. I hate to think what would have happened if they hadn't.
Talk to your OB in advance, and be honest with the anesthesiologist before the procedure.
During my first c-section I started to seriously freak out. I have never had a panic attack, so I am not sure if that it was, but I suspect it must've been. I had a serious, documented phobia of needles, so you can imagine how calm I was going in there. During the procedure I started to feel severe, intense chest pains. Shot straight through me to my back. I started to freak and they told me it was just heart burn. I started to really freak and they told me they were going to give me something to help (i think related to benadryl, not sure what). Within seconds, I had instant relief. The relief was so quick, I wasn't too afraid of it happening again for my second section, because I knew that if it happened they could fix it in seconds. The only down side is that after getting it, everything is a blur. I didn't care that they put my newborn on my chest in recovery. I couldn't process that she was there. But that could also have been due to the fact that I was very sick (HELLP) which is why I had the section.
